20+ year ABQ metro resident here, and current resident of Corrales. Thanks for the shout-out to the neighborhood, I love it here! I only have one gripe on the ditch banks (acequias), and that's just how chopped up they get with the equestrian traffic. It takes some pressure adjustment and getting used to. Ride on!!

Nice! We moved to New Mexico last year (East Mtns- the other side of Sandia) and have loved the mountain biking here. After being struck by a hit-and-run driver 6 years ago on my commute home from the bike shop, almost bleeding to death, and needing 9 surgeries I just can’t feel comfortable on the road, but I’m thinking that the gravel roads out here will let me recapture the joys of road riding without the cars!

As a former (decades) roadie, my first ride with a friend down into the corrales bosque got me into Mtn. Biking, my drop bar bikes were gone shortly after. I still ride a bunch on paved bike paths as well as Alb. Really is an awesome city for bikes and the off road foothill trails are very nice, I can do all of the above on one bike. 2.2 raceking tires.

I did a training camp there with Navigators in '07. It's a great place to ride!

Navigators… that’s a blast from the past. Astana did a training camp here one year with Contador and Horner and Kloden and everybody. It was freezing that year.

@@TheRidewithBenDelaney Great place to ride bikes, the versatility of ABQ only grows when you throw a Grav Bike into the mix, very cool!

Daniel Swinton built me an old fixie up years back with Michelin cx tires and Tuffy strips. That was a fun ride for the Bosque.

What's your favorite post-ride spot for those green chilies New Mexico is known for?
@TheRidewithBenDelaney
2 жыл бұрын
I can't answer with a single spot - there are too many! My go-to's include: -Lotaburger for green chile burger, milkshake and fries (fast food) -Duran's for carne adovada (red), enchiladas, stuff sopapillas, tamales, etc, etc (sit down) -Golden Pride for breakfast burritos (fast food) -buying a big bag of fresh roasted chile and then putting it on EVERYTHING at home

@@TheRidewithBenDelaney Awesome. I'm not from there but have visited. Enjoyed the Old Town area and great to know that this gravel option is right nearby. Keep up the informative gravel content.
