It's stupid even if it does work. As someone that carries at a machine shop, let me tell you how shitty a bunch of metal grindings/shavings would be constantly attached to your gun would be. Not to mention is this for an AR because holy hell that bish is tall 😂 is this the 193 mount for a pistol 😅

I like the concept. Mostly because it could mean you could have a dot on guns that aren't cut for it. Not just modern but older guns too that you don't want to ruin with milling or drilling into. Aftermarket mounts to put these on some historical guns as well could be cool.

He said thousands of rounds testing. I'd want to see a test with at least 300 rounds in a single session, without breaks, to heat everything up. Then try the table racks again.

@@zedhiro6131 Magnets are made from iron. And to make magnet or ruin one needs very hot temperatures. Gun and user will stop shooting way before those are reached. Plastics are melting etc.

So almost every review I've seen there has been a criticism about battery locations requiring the red dot to be unmounted to change the battery which causes you to lose zero (even though it's mounting to 4 fixed points on the slide). So if that is such a big issue and concern, how will this be at all useful if the whole sight can shift around and will never hold zero?

This is a cool idea. My biggest concern is that anytime you introduce magnetic objects into a reciprocating metal object. Wear will increase because it will retain metal shavings and cause premature wear. You will have to deep clean regularly. I like the concept because one mount and optic could be used on multiple handguns. Or a rotation of optics can be made without it altering the weapon. If they could deviate from the magnet and use the retaining pin I’d be all for it.

What people dont tell you is that, magnets loose their strength after they heat up, so run a pistol drill and worm that alide for a bit and simple as that you will loae your aight too, briliant, just brilliant 😂😂

This is perfectly fine for a CCW and I would run it and not worry. This is not for military use and just because it's not suitable for a navy seal to take on a mission, that doesn't mean you can't slap it on your CCW and go to the grocery store. It will obviously hold up during normal concealed carry use. Even if by some miracle it fell off you still have your iron sights.

At first I was like “um no way” but the way it locks onto the rear sight it shouldn’t be able to move and you have the option to pin it! For all the guns with out slide cuts seems pretty cool I mean the rare earth magnets are really only replacing tiny M3 screws that have at best a mm of thread engagement sometimes through a plastic plate. Honestly I can really see this working very well

I wonder if that strong magnet will pull on components inside the slide. Some pistols like the CZ75 for example have a block that has to move up to clear the path of the firing pin (it's a drop safety).

Im looking forward to seeing this get tested. Im not really into tacticool stuff, but i have a 19 with a stock slide and definitely see the utility of a red dot on it, but I aint spending the dough to get a new optics cut slide and an optic. But around $400 all said and done? Im down with that. Hopefully, this system can hold zero and be reliable.

I know small magnets have gotten way stronger over the years. But idk I'd trust a sight to hold 0 when dealing with the movement of the slide. And what about when carrying? Feel like if you bumped it on something like a wall you're concealed behind it would come off or lose 0.

I’m all for holding zero, & I think this probably will, but unless there were an MOA shift of like 20 or more, which seems highly unlikely, what the hell are yall talking about lol? The holosun 32 moa circle helps with mine. Surprising the Mecanik MO3 has a crisp clear dot for me and it has a huge window. Got that with my TTI Canik Combat. The Vortex defender is starburst, rmr is starburst, holosun eps carry is starburst.

This is really two innovations in one, the first is the magnet locking with the help of the rear sight, the second in the fact that it can be permanently locked to the rear sight without having a special milled slot in the slide. The idea sound gimmicky and stupid but once you see that it is not just a magnet holding it on it's really clever.

Could be a good way to introduce newcomers into the world of red dot pistols, if theyre lookin to buy theyre first handgun aswell.

Would this work for all users of RDS equipped pistols? Duty belts? SWAT teams? Soldiers? No. But…if one looks at this objectively it’s pretty ingenious and might have real merit for the civilian user. Of course, we would need to see POI Shift testing to confirm my hypothesis. But even as a non-permanent RDS mounting solution, this has the potential to be a huge game changer for legacy pistols. So instead of cutting up a slide to install a plate with recoil lugs in it, just use an existing rear iron sight AS the recoil lug. 🤯
