We would imagine the wonderful conversations durng that long night that not only would she & I be a part of but how amazing to have all these souls together at one time eating dinner & discovering each other until the sun came up. Some were well-known like Albert Schweitzer & Einstein, but some were maybe a cashier at the grocery that we clicked with or one of my daughter's teacher.,.,or Bob the school bus driver.😢 And I know she would agree that Lee Asher had to be there along with the young "dog delivery man" that always stands out to us...

I can’t understand people getting dogs INLY yo let them go out somewhere or st shelters INLY to be rescued by domestic compassionate person or euthanised if no one chooses them to rescue. It’s disgusting. 🤮 I believe if people get pets they should research what they want and ehat they’re getting do they KNOW how big these babies grow snd for how many years is their commitment going to be. You can’t just get a dog then after a year or two decide they no longer suit like an old sweater or boots snd discard them. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤮

I just had a shocking reveleation that people in this "saving organisations" many of them are infiltrated psychopats who just promote sterilisation and eutanasia and promote "do not have a pet" (yes, with the excuse better if they do not exist at all, than they if they live.. Like this and that, if they do not have a ranch and bunch of money for them, and I do not know what). I asked this person. Ok sterilisation but where does it end.. Are you aware that you can not stetilise the entire species.. She did not have an answer.. And yes, there is even hidden money and interes behind those caracters.I think they are pure demons infiltrated.. They are just taking all the right and play good with those lives. The infiltration is on a international level

Most of the time, that's not why euthanasia is done. The issue is that shelters are so full and a lot of people aren't able or willing to put in the frankly enormous amount of time and effort it can take to gain the trust of a nervous, traumatized, or aggressive rescue. The shelter can keep one very nervous dog for 6 months until it's rescued, or they can help a dozen more sociable dogs find homes in that time. As hard as it is, when the shelters are full to bursting, it becomes a numbers game. They just want to help as many dogs as possible. The same goes for dogs who will need expensive surgeries or medications- $10,000 could save one dog via surgery, or it could save 20 via vaccines and spays/neuters. Everyone is doing the best they can with limited space and resources.

Great Pyrenees probably appear in shelters because they don't belong sitting alone for 10hrs a day inside the apartments of workaholics who select this breed because they're nice looking dogs and a good conversation starter, they belong on farms protecting their animals - same goes for Malinois and German Shepherds and Huskies who NEED to work and challenge their intelligence, but far too often people get these big smart dogs with ZERO intention on giving the stimulation THEY need while barely walking them, maybe (if the dog is lucky), a few times a week. I'm glad to know Lee is out there coming to their rescue. Yeah, I know, I'm probably preaching-to-the-choir on this channel, everyone here already knows what I'm talking about.👍

People get cute puppies or dogs and don't really have the integirty it takes to commit to them. They don't know how to train them properly and end up with behavior issues. Since they couldn't handle the basic trinaing, they certainly can't handle corrective training. They expect the dog to just be good or "know better", when they aren't even communicaitng in a way the dog understands. So, they eventually give up and dump them at shelters.

Yes, that’s it 100%. People can’t afford these large dogs anymore. Rent and grocery prices are out of control and large dogs cost a lot of money. I had a friend who had to give up her dog because in the past 4 years, her rent went up $700 a month and her grocery bill almost doubled. She even let her cell phone and internet get shut off trying to keep him, but his food went from $18 a bag to $28 a bag and he had a skin condition she couldn’t afford to get treated. She just felt she had no choice. She still cries when she thinks about him and it’s been several months. 😢 He DID get adopted, thankfully. She didn’t hear anything about the people who adopted him, but she’s thankful the shelter let her know and told her they vetted the new family.

I am fortunate to have saved a totally shut-down, afraid, reactive 8 month old golden retriever. I did what instinct told me. Patience and loving care. You're right she is a very loyal love now. Since she didn't come from a shelter, but indirectly from a puppy mill, she fortunately was not spayed. Her breed has a 2/3rds chance of dying from cancer so she had an ovary sparing spay instead. It will be our one year anniversary next week. Emmy says thank you and your staff for the loving care you provide. Happy paws.

That guy who brings them and does their vet visits etc, is one great dog person! I love how they bond with him, in this video and others. These dogs are so beautiful!

So glad they made it to Asher House. You can see the expression on their faces when they look at Lee. They will be healed in every way.

Dog rescue days always make me smile. Sad to see so many Great Pyrs. I brought 3 dogs with me overseas when I moved (one of them a Great Pyr) and all of them have passed. I miss my big boy so much. The work you do is beyond amazing.

Lee, GP rescues either don't know or full. I'm thankful you have them all. Our Humane society is helping families feed their large breed dogs to keep them with their families. We have a waiting list for surrendering and our shelters are no kill. Thank you ❤

The breeding needs to be regulated strongly.. this will never stop unless they regulate it to the point that people are not allowed to have pets without having them fixed. There is no need to be breeding dogs when the shelters are overcrowded with beautiful animals that need love.

People should not be afraid of the pyranese/ anatolian pups❣️ we just lost ours and they are the most loyal, great dogs we've ever had. Loved all children. She was great. Miss her alot. 😢 thank you Asher house❣️

The transport driver was so caring! No wonder the dogs bond with him, even in that brief amount of time. Soon all these sweet dogs will be full of joy, fears overcome, health issues dealt with, and for those where it's appropriate, they'll be adopted into loving homes, and the rest will stay in doggie heaven at The Asher House!

They are all so scared. What have they gone through? I can't imagine. I believe they knew that they were going to be euthanized or heard or seen something. I hope they feel secure here. Thank you for rescuing them. They're absolutely beautiful ❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️

😭😭 bless y'all for being able to take them on. Miami is in an epidemic with the shelters and rescues being too full for intake unless an absolute emergency. I hope regulations start to be passed and enforeced with breeders and irresponsible owners, its time to stop the cycle. Rescues like yours have given these beautiful animals a second chance at life ❤

That was me who asked several times to show us the facilities at Asher House. You did not disappoint. I just love Rob but I live in. AZ. Now another big favor. Please do a campaign to get your dogs and cats spayed and neutered. Many many people cry on rescue day. Believe them when they say so I need a service dog and wish I could come get Rob.

I think, often, people don't adopt large dogs because they can't afford to feed them. Almost everyone is struggling financially right now.

It is a real issue. I spend more $$ on food for my 95-lb rescue Weimaraner than I do myself, by far.

That is a good point. Everything is more expensive for a larger dog, including chews, treats, jackets, harness, beds, everything.

Bs. They do not eat a loot. That is a pop cultures misconception from the moovie Beethoven. I would put that moovie on a list of most destructive in recent hystory. Big dogs, if not the hyperactive type, actually eat very little cause they get fat too easy, and have a problem with joints

Funny enough Great Pyrenees don’t really eat a lot considering their size. I feed mine kibble and canned food.

All these dogs are so beautiful. Hard to believe any would be in a shelter never mind on euthanasia list. So happy they are on their way to forever homes now ❤.
