If I could post a picture of my new setup I would. I’ve found a pegboard above my workbench to be very helpful to keep tools off the bench itself. I just got some from Bunnings. The pinnacle pegboard.

I am fortunate having the room but somehow it needs to be reorganised and uncluttered.

For me, I like to have my work bench clear.. nothing on it at all except a lamp and a cutting mat.. I get the parts and tools out for a particular job for each modelling session.. I find it helps me focus on what I actually want to get done.. then everything is put away at the end and my desk is cleaned down, nothing is left on it..

As you can see my desk is large and perhaps could be organised much better. So where do you put your tools.

@@Steven_Rowe I have plastic storage shelves similar to yours next to my workbench.. there on a small IKEA cabinet.. I try to be as minimal as possible with everything I own.. I only have things that I need.. it's amazing how many tools and other bits and bobs you need to build 1 loco in o gauge!

Looking at your study, to me it looks very cramped. Maybe take out the desk with the models on top and replace with a couple of wall mounted shelves. Your B1, to be accurate the return cranks on both sides of the locomotive when the coupling rods are bottom centre, should lean forwards, about five degrees from the vertical. Good to see you are finally happy with the paint finish. Well done.

Thanks for the critique, I was actually thinking of taking out the roll top desk. Even though my work bench is big I feel its somehow not efficient. The cranks were 5 degrees forward, I just checked and found its loose on the crank so that will need fixing, thanks for point that out.

How about a garden shed. There was a ' Last of the Summer Wine' on TV the other day, where the chaps wife had him almost permanently living in the shed, really funny. You could knock a hole in garage wall and run railway into work room. Wish you all the best for 2024, cheers.

The study is great plus my railway is in the garage. I think I simply need to make my work space more efficient and move some stuff out.

@stephendeakin2714 you are correct, it is a wonderful space but I feel I can make better use of it. I know it sounds silly but I feel awkward in there
