Hope your Dad get better soon, I lost mine falling from a roof at 82, I could not keep the Carpenter out of Him. I just started Hunting and did one park with VE3VTH and loved it.

Sorry to hear about your father. Yes, mine, too, never follows guidance from doctors and has gotten himself into trouble.

Working a pileup a mile from the truck, a temperature drop with sleet, wind, and rain blew in. The kit was soaked, and the hike out left me soaked. Calling QRT was the only option, even though I wanted to continue .

The radio looks and sounds neat with the big speaker, large freq readout and bouncy S meter.

Good video; hope your father is recovering. Your mic is working very well during the long distance antenna deployment. Also good "history" of POTA's early days. I thought of you last week. I was on a road trip from FL to SC on Jet Skiing trip and I activated a park in GA and SC on the way up. It was a drizzly day but both parks had this great pavilion covering and picnic tables like I had remarked about in your videos! I just needed to get out of FL! Ha

As a long time ham, but somewhat new to POTA hunting, I wanted to comment on your leaving a pile up. I've been a long time dx chaser and have often had stations have to QRT even with a big pile up. The why of needing to QRT never really mattered to me, if an operator has to go, he or she has to go. It's not like you are insulting the folks who haven't worked you. Life marches on, and DX and POTA are not the most important things in life. There will be other times, places, and stations to work. BTW best wishes to your Father. de Steve W5EN
