I was in grammar school when all of these assassinations that your guest mentions took place. I clearly remember this case. Great piece!

I grew up about 5 miles from the Yablonski house. Years later the band I was playing in got a private party gig there. The new owners took us on a tour ,including how the killers entered and went through the house. They also showed us the bullet holes that were still visible. Creepy.

Outstanding research by the author. I was a 10 year old growing up in Western Pa. when these murders took place. I never knew the whole story, and what it meant for the UMWA until I watched this. I'm grateful for the work Mr. Bradley has done and I look forward to reading the book.

I was a kid back then, niece of a steelworker at Jones & Laughlin. I read all about it in the Press and the Post-Gazette. Tony Boyle was a monster.

My dad was a miner during that time. There were things he was silent about even after retiring.

Nixon was actually deeply involved with union leadership, and money changed hands. He needed the UAW and the Teamsters on board for 1972. Perhaps he neglected the UMW to chase these friendlier fish.

Have you heard about the Jake yablonski boy who has been missing for 2 weeks now in Baraboo Wisconsin right by an old mining site from the early 1900 s. The boy is been missing for about 2 weeks now.

I’m listening to the audiobook ofBlood Runs Coal. It says in one part that Silas Huddleston, and some other guys bloodied Steve Kochis in a Wheeling parking lot. Is that Steve Kochis from Clarksville PA? If so, he used to have a little store and we had called him a Cadillac because he always drove a Cadillac.

It was Cadillac, I found an old newspper clipping, he ran against Boyle tree times, but never won.
