Got a campaign unit, glad I did, its awesome. I dropped it once, its solid, nothing shaking or making a noise. Performance, feel and look, it always depends on where you're at, I had a Steam Deck but wanted to be able to play the games the way I am on the OneXFly. I also have a high end PC and PS5 so this really fits the space as a hand held device. I find the other devices big and clunky and not easy to sit with for long periods. This is close to a Switch Lite shape and Steam Deck heft / size.

@GameTechTalk
11 ай бұрын
I have moved on from D-Pad altogether, I see them more as another set of face buttons.... Even for retro games, I tend to shift back and forth and ultimately finding comfort on analogs but I know not everyone sees it that way. With that in mind, assymetrical sticks, I find, makes it easier for my brain to distinguish left side to right side in terms of thumb motion. So yeah, I'm glad it's designed the way it is but to be frankly, symmetrical sticks on PC handhelds are so rare and for the very few case that are like that (Steam Deck, Win Max 2, Win Mini), I think it has more to do with just overall space left to design controls. If anything, I'm surprised none of these companies designed a "swappable" system. That could be one of those things that makes a device MASSIVELY stand out for massive retro gaming individuals but also everybody else that jumps from Playstation to Xbox regularly.

I'm hoping to have it out in less than 7 days, ideally half of that time. @GameTechTalk

I'm excited to have it in hands, having been a GPD Win 2 owner, being a clamshell lover and having have the Win Max 2 and Win 4 as you mentioned. I expect it to be a nice portable and pocketable device but truth be told, I also expect the overall feel of the device to be a mixed bag of hits and misses. For starters, GPD are starting to fall behind in terms of overall quality. But what they lack in quality, they provide in convenience and the Win Mini will most likely reinforce that DNA they have. But also, GPD's software solution is starting to feel very flat compared to AYASpace 2 and OneXPlayer which feel far more on-par with the ASUS Software on the ALLY. And last, those receded sticks are easy to understand why it's a must on clamshells but man is it ever the most annoying thing if not done right. GPD did quite well with the Win Max 2 so fingers crossed. All in all, I'm perplexed. I'm hoping for a great device but we won't know until we have it. I'm also worried with GPD doing their first 120hz panel. The Win 4 panel is decent, the WM2 has the size aspect but for everything else, it's greatly lacking. So yeah, those GPD oddities are starting to come out due to their competition getting better, I find.

What about driver support? Can I trust long term support from onex?
@GameTechTalk
6 ай бұрын
In reality, OneXFly don't really need support. Pretty much every handheld PCs, including ASUS and Lenovo, use readily available parts. Drivers are comprised mostly of AMD and a few generic ones that Microsoft supply. Gyro, it's all the same supplier that they all get their parts from. The one exception would be the bios, and truth be told, the moment it works, we don't really need to expect drivers in the future. With that said, yes they still do increase compatibility elsewhere, for example, Linux is an OS that is greatly gaining ground in the last few years and I'm sure 1NB, much like GPD, AYANEO and the likes are all working on improving their compatibility. If you were referring to Windows though, the support has been very good across all recognized brands in the space, including the Chinese-based "boutique" type ones. Bit of a longer answer but I hope it clarifies the question you may have had.

Imo, its biggest draw back is that you have to order from china. They need to get some Europe and America based partnerships going. Somewhere reputable that people can buy from. That is effectively a gamble that I absolutely, undoubtly understand people not wanting to get behind. Chances for issues to happen are fairly slim and have improved tremendously throughout the years but anyone not feeling comfortable should just sit on it. No one is impervious to running into issues and the support you get when that happens is nothing like what many European and North American countries have been accustomed to. That's why devices such as Steam Deck and RoG ALLY or with the third upcoming one, the Lenovo Legion Go, are still the frontrunners for anyone looking to get into that product space.

@@Yuu-oc7ye Sorry that comment got past me somehow. I think it's a fair device to compare it too, from the standpoint of sharing more common aspects however, I would say that on nearly every little thing the OneXFly is superior. The audio is definitely superior, the rumble, the panel I find too but to be fair, I only saw the 800p on the Geek but I do have an AYANEO 2 which is supposedly the same panel as the 1200p Geek. Versus the 1200p, I find OneXPlayer still tweaked their 1080p panel better overall but is also a 120hz vs 60hz on the Geek. The 16:9 slim bezel of the OneXFly results in a lighter, more compact, and better balance ergonomics and weight versus the Geek. I'd give the Geek a single advantage and it is that they use larger analog stick caps. And last, while AYASpace 2 improved a GREAT GREAT deal, I find that OneXPlayer's OneXConsole is considerably better in terms of ease-of-use and overall reliability and responsiveness. It depends on how much you crank it high (power wise) and how demanding the game is. I'd say the absolutely worst case scenario pumping this thing to the absolute max without a care in the world (but it's pointless) on a super demanding game would be a bit more than an hour. I'd say overall, an hour half to two hours is more likely for decently demanding games at a decent TDP. I hope this helps!

Bro is there a away to increase the resolution? Is the max on the Onexfly is 1920 x 1080? On the OXP Mini I can go higher. Any ideas?
@GameTechTalk
10 ай бұрын
The max resolution is indeed 1920x1080. You might be able to up render to then downconvert but it would be a massive hit for little to no benefits. Indeed, OneNetbook usually go for 1200p or 1600p. But keep in mind that 1200p is just 16:10, whereas the OneXFly is 16:9 so in other words, your resolution is the same, you just have less "vertical screen estate". As for 1600p, it is sweet without a doubt, like it is on the Legion fGo or example but driving games on that actual resolution is a bit much of an ask, at least for AAA and graphically demanding games.

@@GameTechTalk Could I use the app your suggested to change this "CRU"or maybe in adrenaline software?
@GameTechTalk

@@icebergerking I would strongly recommend not going toward CRU to increase resolution. That's the equivalent of overclocking your panel, the risks of blowing something up by overdriving the panel increase considerably. Rather, I would expect that AMD has a software solution in their drivers. Unfortunately, I have been a Nvidia guy nearly all my life so I wouldn't know where to start but for sure, it's got to exist. Or the 3rd option is whenever games have a "render" slider. By going past 100%, say 130%, you are essentially driving a 1440p signal to a 1080p panel. It does have slightly increased sharpness but can also make things look fuzzy cause it's beyond native panel resolution.

If you have a 64gb model, absolutely that you should set it to 32gb. That's what I'll be personally doing when I get mine. If you have a 32gb model, the "auto" setting seem to overall be a bit better from benchmark but it is an overall trivial difference in terms of how much of a difference it makes. Cheers! :)

@@GameTechTalk you mean with ,,Auto settings,, the Performance global framerate Limit? Sorry my Specs information ist Not so perfekt. Its so sad that No one makes a Video with the best settings for one x fly.

@@phoenixshawn7015 When setting your vram buffer, it should give you options up to half of your total ram as well as auto. 16gb for modern operating systems nowadays is a bit cutting it short. It's enough but ideally, you have more. So when setting 16gb on a 32gb ram device, you're putting extra strain on your OS whereas 99% of the games won't REQUIRE 16gb of vram, though many will definitely utilize that much if you have it. That is why auto will better manage what you need and where you need it and because of it, it'll sometimes equal to better performance overall but very little. If you have a 64gb system, 32gb is more than plenty for OS and for games so that's why setting it to 32gb is just perfect overall, everyone aspects will get all they need without relying on the auto feature moving it back and forth. Sorry for the wall of text, I hope this makes sense. Cheers :)

Hello ! I'm hesitating on buying a gaming handheld and I saw your comment on the onexfly website and then watched this video x) I saw you have the legion go and do you have the onexplayer2pro ? If you do do you think the onexfly is most worth buying than the onexplayer2pro,the legion go and the rog ally or even the steamdeck oled ? If you take the time to answer my comment I will really apreciate, I think you defenitly should have more subs, +1 from me, keep up the hard work 💪

Thanks for the kind words! I do not have the OXP2 Pro at the moment but I would suggest against it in favor of the OneXFly. It has extra features over the OXP2 Pro and is overall a better rounded product. If you are specifically after a bigger screen, I'd wait for OneXPlayer 1X reviews to come out (I'll be reviewing it when I get my unit). Between the Legion Go and ALLY, I still prefer the OneXFly as it is overall a superior device but if I had to go with one of the two, the ALLY is the best of both. Better panel, better ergonomics, better audio and overall feel. It's also seriously cheaper if you can get an open box from BestBuy. But yeah, if money is no object, I'd go with OneXFly. Steam Deck OLED is also top tier, you can't really go wrong but the more time goes by, the more limited you are in terms of games it can run, nonetheless, the library remains massive and SteamOS is pleasant to navigate if you like a "no brainer" kind of experience. Let me know if you have other questions! :)

@@clementclement955
