I have heard about those garbage dumps but have never seen any. That is just so disgusting. How can someone do that? I don’t understand. The rest of the video was amazing. So many little fish and pretty coral. Sorry to hear that it is having some problems also. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

That garbage is everywhere in any coastal country that does not have a decent government in place. IN all of these countries, there is no governmental garbage pick-up. Only the rich can afford to pay to have their garbage picked up.

Joseph as a father who had been separated from my son and daughter for sometime, it makes my heart smile when I see someone such as yourself go and visit your daughter. I personally know for at least myself, the mental stress not being able to "physically" be there for my kids. With all the technology today you can FaceTime them and all this other stuff, yet nothing I mean nothing takes place of being able to physically see them. Lastly how saddening is it to see what humans have done to this beautiful planet by improperly disposing of garbage. Barges leave New York City on a daily basis packed full of garbage and from what I was told they go way out into the ocean somewhere and just dump all that garbage into our oceans. Makes me sick to my stomach to see!! Keep on with the great videos, but most importantly make the most of that precious time you have with your daughter!!✌🏼

Hey Joseph 👋🏻it’s awesome seeing u having a great time with ur lil girl. Tht is def a beautiful place, but dang it u need to be careful. I don’t have any ocean water here in Ky, but I do love going to our lake. Me and my lil guy love the water, and unfortunately more often than not we end up spending the day picking up trash instead of just getting to fish, hike, etc. He is 9 now, but he has always helped pick up the trash from others. I can remember him being so little and asking y do ppl do this. I think he understands a little more now than he did at 5. I hope he carries this knowledge and respect for nature the rest of his life and hopefully one day when he’s older he can teach many others. Continue to enjoy ur time there, and be safe. God bless u all 🙏🫶🏻

Joseph, I'm so glad you weren't hurt. Did they have any dive markers or flags warning that divers were in the water? You must always be very mindful for Emma's sake. If something should happen to you, being a child, she could blame herself for it since you went there to visit her. Children often adopt blame for elements outside their range of control. The reef was amazing but it was also very sad to see it was suffering. I can understand why Jason Mamoa ( aka, AQUAMAN ) is so against plastics since he's from Hawaii. I wonder if the water there is filthy with plastic also? Joseph, please use your podcast to shed light on the plastics issue as much as you can, every bit helps. We all need to do our share to get the message out there, to clean up what we can, to reduce and reuse the existing plastics and to recycle. People need to realize how harmful all these plastics are! Thank you for inspiring us to do our share, it seems like a monumental task (like eating an elephant) for one person but together we can make a difference. ❤ Hang in there! 😊

Seeing all the plastic makes me SOOOO sad. I've slowly been getting rid of the plastics in our home but seeing all the plastic trash in the water has made me more determined to stop all plastics, including all the milk jugs. We're now switched over to organic raw milk from a local farmer. I've asked to learn how they do their organic veggie yard and have met very happy responses. Is the coral bleaching caused by all the fertilizers leeching into the bays or is it from the water being too hot for them? I know Florida has had a few bleaching events but those directly correlated from the releases of Lake Okeechobee down the Caloosahatchee River. The water in LakrcO is so polluted that it smells like soured laundry water and it severely reduces the salinity in the river and has damaged the eco system that was there when I was a kid and the water was absolutely clear unlike today with its coffee color and horrible smells which create toxic algea blooms that turn the water into pea green thick sludge after EVERY water release. The releases are done to protect the nearly 100 year 9ld levee and Duke systems that were put in place by the Army Corps of Engineers to protect the sugar plantations south of Lake O from flooding during the summer monsoon season. The natural water flow was South into the upper reaches of the Everglades, which were drained for sugar and rice fields which are the major polluters of Lake O.
