I've only been scammed once on ebay. It was when I got a new PS4 that came with a digital code. I decided to sell the digital code on ebay as i didn't like that game. Someone bought it and then asked for me to send the code to them instead. It was the first time I had sold a digital code on ebay so I wasn't aware I needed to still post the code to their address. They got the code and then asked for a refund claiming they had been hacked. Ebay gave them the money back and I lost the digital code as it had been used. That was my fault but it sucks that people will do that to you.

Sellers like that are the ones who make it twice as hard for other sellers such as myself, now every buyer is on edge because nobody trusts nobody anymore. ive bought like 200-500 things on ebay and never had an issue. I only buy from sellers at 99% thought. Maybe 98% if they have something I really want. These days they are the nicest people to do business with often sending thank you messages etc
@FreeWhilly734
5 күн бұрын
@@cyan0xideJust be aware buyers also scam sellers. I'm on 98% and it was because a guy tried to get me to send the item to a different address and I cancelled the sale. I got a load of abuse saying it was for his child and they needed it asap and eBay read the messages but wouldn't allow me to give him negative feedback or withdraw the feedback he left for me. I also sold a water pump on eBay which I know was working. The guy knew you get 3 months to return an item so on the last day at 11.30pm he put in a returns claim and proceeded to demand his money back. My first response was ok this guy has used my pump and probably broke it now tried to say it never worked from the start. I could have believed it but when he bought it he already told me he had a plumber booked in and he needed it urgently for Tuesday so I actually paid more to get it to him for that date. So the messages started flooding in demanding a refund... As a seller you have three options at this point full refund, partial refund or allow eBay to intervene. I asked him why have you waited three months to tell me it was broke when you received it.. his response was I only just fitted it. I then said "look just be honest please I'm happy to give you a partial refund as it should have lasted longer than 3 months, would 50% be acceptable?". He replied with no I want a full refund so I let eBay intervene and he had to send the pump to me before I could issue a refund. Two weeks went by and a box appeared and straight away another message was received you've got the pump now give me my money. I inspected the pump and I had the serial of the one I sent, it did indeed match. I sent a message saying the pump was sent dry and you've sent it back with water inside so you've obviously used it. Anyway everything was sent to eBay they sided in their favour and I've now got a used broken pump. £250 down the drain. Buyers scam sellers just as much if not more.... I'm a fan of eBay but I think selling high value items is very risky. I've actually cancelled sales of buyers as I've now implemented this rule 1. If the username has been changed it's probably a hacked account 2. If they have no feedback or new user I refuse to sell to them. I've received bad feedback for this but if it's that or be hundreds of pounds out of pocket I'll take the feedback.

That’s just horrible I was a big eBay seller back 2007/2012 but the absolute abuse of the scams I would sell something for $200. They’d say they never got it or it wasn’t received. I just lose everything right then they get all their money back I was at the time using it as a full-time job on average I’d lose two to $500 a month off of people saying they didn’t get their item or they’d send me back the same item just broken. They switch it out. I had to quit doing it freedom of job that I had made for myself and not working for anyone else, but the stress was killing me. I had no ability to fight against being ripped off and having my money stolen. So I feel all of your pain in this one brother love the content please keep it up. And if you share the eBay name, there’s nothing wrong with that. You’re just warning the public I absolutely would if I was you because we in the gaming community don’t want to be ripped off there’s nothing we can do to him except avoid purchasing from him

always...ALWAYS record yourself opening your parcels! Very easy to do, just prop your phone up against something, set it on front facing camera 'selfie' mode, press record, get the scissors and open it slowly to the camera. To me it sounds like that seller is partly looking to scam you, but more likely, he's looking to scam royal mail or whichever courier he used. He's probably claimed damage or contents missing and used the screenshot of the refund to evidence his claim that only half the order got delivered. I had someone send me a broken steam deck recently, he's clearly done that so he can claim for damage against the courier.

You would be able to tell it was a lie by checking the weight of the parcel from courier/postal service. And comparing it to the weight of two games.

Yes I think is why ebay wanted me to send them a photo of the envelope label

I had someone buy a $35 item once (pair of jeans), the same day she got the item she opened a case claiming she did not receive it or it was not the same i don't remember the exact reason. At the same time shes listed the item for sale for $50 on her ebay account with all new photos of the item lmao. Was probably the easiest case to prove to ebay, I won the case and a day later her account was banned by ebay.

i have been reporting to eBay about a toast rack that's clearly just the case with a 48k board inside , they NEVER took it down and now some poor sod is going to be paying near two notes for a scam

It seems the package went through the Twilight Zone. One of the games somehow jumped out in transit and mysteriously found its way back to the seller for him to sell again.

I've had a similar incident last week, matey. I only bought one game, though, and only received an envelope with a piece of card in it. The seller was adamant he had sent the game and that Royal Mail had opened it up, stolen it, replaced it with a piece of card, and re-sealed it 😂

If he'd sent them both in that same envelope, how did they manage to find his address to send it back to him? What an absolute cock. GL to you.

i would do charge back with the bank and a get full refund 😅 i only pay with Paypal on ebay as it’s easier to get a refund and Paypal always refund if it’s a scam seller on ebay👍 ebay always takes the sellers side never the buyer

I had a similar situation, but a seller not shipping an item from the UK for over a month. Resulted in a refund and think the person's account was banned which was deserved. It is insane people can put you on hold for that long to then go through a process. I also bought a graded card which was "undeliverable" and I dount USPS will find it, but the card is insured so I can get a refund whenever I give in to my patience lol.

Recently there is been a rash of eBay users altering shipping labels so that they appear to be delivered when they have not been. The way to deal with it is to open case with the USPS. Once the eBay user sees the USPS is snooping around, they tend to put the real item in the mail and the fake item with the altered tracking label "disappears".

Most people on eBay are cool, but there are quite a few scumbags to be wary of. You should get the first two fatal frame games on the Xbox 360 as they are hands down the scariest games i have ever played.

wouldnt have been unfair if he only refunded £40 as they were £60 each but you got them down to £50 each for buying them together. dome blame for for trying for the £50 back :) ebay are usually great for sorting stuff like this - cant remember where but you can request a phone call through the dispute page and ebay they usually call you within 10 minutes. dont forget - any problems & ebay take their side you can allways do a chrageback through your bank or open another dispute through paypal just a thought - if package arrives like that & you suspect its missing something dont open until you have a camera ready to record the opening :)
