BUT 13:46? HEAVENLY HONESTLY. 14:51? absolutely lovely. 19:48 made my heart pause (honestly!) OH MY GOD 20:21? I think it’s because the rhythm is 2D in a way; normal music’s rhythm is made from a line, whereas this rhythm is made by a graph Our monkey minds are easily engaged by this song’s predictable pattern, and yet it varies enough to be interesting. Like hearing lots of frogs chirp in the night.
@reasonsreasonably

Music is rhythm, melody, dissonance and consonance and surprise all jumbled up. The rhythm of the notes are varied with simple algorithms that allow for surprising rhythmic patterns that are not too jarring and have repetitions. The scale of notes used are all consonant so there are never jarring dissonant intervals, so it always sounds "good". The number one reason why it sounds good is that it is always using a set of notes that are consonant and thus every set of notes is pleasing.

As a person who navigates both musical composition and geometry from the first-for the most part intuitively-and complimentarily-drinks in parrallel examples of the ‘gist’ wherever found; on sight and sound we immediately saw the running grain of the harmonizing geometry in your lucid self encapsulated/referential diagram. Before pressing play it was apparent that here was an implementation of primary phenomena in this realm. The above said, we feel a certain kindred; though admittedly, programming comes to us about as naturally as the average cat does to surprise cold showers; so we admire your knack and grasp. Just notes into your composition we found the introductory text to your work and efforts a sad testament to the contemporary conditions which characterize intellectual property and creative endeavor generally. The complimentary spirit rises when we tread in the timeless precincts which are the dominion of the ineffable, and a naturalized dweller there naturally wishes to stand by the shoulder of the maestro, and when they tire to strum their soundboard-if only quietly, respectfully, modestly, wondering at the mysterious machinery and the genius of the tool. Any articulation which makes holds whereby some approach to the magically ordered infinite realms might be set out upon is a making that makes the maker fit for the Hall of Heroes. We hope that soon, we are to see some of this wonder we see and hear before us, like we once delighted at an old MOOG left for a season at our home-though once scarce, rare and costly-beyond that, once-not long ago-inconceivable; the dream of an idyll madman… that strange butterfly, that dilapidated MEMORY MOOG, alighting within reach of a poor but feverishly enthusiastic student, that is the finest implementation of a wonderful articulation. Guard your interest, wield your ingenuity to maximum effect, practice fully a discreet debut and stratagem to your full and just compense-truly-GODSPEED. We yearn for the day when this logical expression, this mode of expression-with visual logic harnessed to the timeless cycling work, graduates from the secret school and poof-makes for diffusion, inclusion, integration, expressive availability, etc., that striking butterfly there upon the windowsill. My sincere compliments, and again: GODSPEED

What would make this truly useful as a AU / VST / audio plugin would be if you could record and playback the position of the lines. The randomness and movement is cool but you need to be able to 'replicate' the sound over and over, for a daw / midi. if you could hit a midi key and the wave jumps to a predefined space and plays from there while you hold the note (or a few various modes) it would be a pretty cool ambient / atmospheric synth. Nice work!
