I would like to make one or two receivers for digital clocks that can link up to the 60khz frequency for the time signal in the UK. Please help. Also I would like one that can do sound out put that if the transmitter is switched on or off when it is in service. During (March to October) . Many thanks.

This is super helpful in planning my own radio build, lots of features I've thought about. I look forward to watching the whole build.

One issue I ran into with using SMD chip inductors for HF filters is that it's not easy to find high-Q versions in small form factors. It's hard to beat a wrapped toroid for Q! E.g., say you need a 1.1uH inductor for a filter... checking Mouser briefly, there are only 11 in stock in that value, and with Q around 25 (eek!). That will make for a lossy filter, and cost more than a toroid and some wire... Things change a bit as you get up into VHF / UHF, where you can find decent Q values in small packages, but for HF I think it's a pretty tough sell.
