The San Antonio water system (SAWS) is making some changes to deal with the ongoing drought sources trying to keep water usage down while avoiding going into stage four restrictions.
Some of the proposed changes include city issued citations if you violate restrictions, meaning a fee and a court date. Salas also wants to change the hours you can water your lawn to later at night and earlier in the morning. Some residents had feedback for the plan at a public input meeting today. The revised rules in today's proposal are a weakened plan from Por process moved to amend.
Implement a better plan that was coordinated and communicated for months and not this last minute. Swerve to use more water after a vote from the source board. The proposed changes will go to the City Council in June for consideration.
