I'm pretty sure the line when Freddy kills Jennifer is "f--- the prime time bitch!." Also something most people don't notice or pay attention to in the nightmare franchise, is that Freddy didn't start being funny and giving snappy one liners until this film. In the first two films Freddy had no sense of humor and didn't give little snappy one liners. It's only in this film and after that Freddy gets a sense of humor.

I love "Dream Warriors", it's one of my favorites of the franchise with the original, "Freddy's Revenge" and "New Nightmare", but unfortunately I think the rest of the sequels just learned the wrong lessons from this movie: much more emphasis on visual effects, humor and mythology surrounding Freddy's past, rather than focusing on a good script.

SPOILER (in case she reads the comments) SPOILER SPOILER I think Dream Master is a good flick aside from the kills, that's the flaw with that film for me. They were cheesy and corny, like the roach, the invisible karate, the beach scene, the nurse, the teacher/apple scene, etc. It was too comedic. Aside from that, the movie screams 80s MTV which I love, I liked the characters, the final battle with Alice was great and his "defeat" with the souls ripping him apart was excellent and probably one of my favorites in the whole franchise. If the kills were more horror and less MAD tv then it would be a great sequel imo.

This movie codified a lot of the traits that are now regularly associated with Freddy Kruger. This was the one where his backstory was fleshed out, giving him the title of the Bastard Son of a Hundred Maniacs, confirmed that he had always been evil and insane from the moment of his conception, established that Freddy had lived in Nancy’s old house prior to the parents of Elm street killing him, started showing more fantastic, nightmare-based ways for him to kill kids rather than just slicing them up all the time, had him start using dark jokes and trollish one liners to mock his victims, and when he started regularly calling his victims “bitch.” This one really finished setting the table for Freddy’s stories going forward, while the first two just barely tapped where the mythology was going.

The line is "Welcome to prime-time, bitch!" How did Freddy turn Johnny Depp into a blood-smoothie? The same way he dragged Tina across the ceiling in defiance of gravity, and the same way you die for real when he kills you in your dreams When you dream, your in his world, and can bend that reality to his will. The more terror his victims feel, the stronger he becomes, and the greater his power to manipulate the reality of his dying victims. Behind the scenes of Nightmare 1, they actually filmed a bloody Glen/Johnny Depp being spat out of the bed as well, but opted not to include it. Behind the scenes of Nightmare 3, here, the opening scene where Kristin rescues the little girl only to find she's holding a decayed skeleton was originally going to be more disturbing. One of the fx artists, Mark Shostrom, created an emaciated corpse that looked like a child who had died of starvation. The producers decided that was a bit too nightmarish, and opted not to use it. Anyway, I enjoyed the reaction. The series proper peaks here, but the next installment is an enjoyable roller-coaster ride, with a great lead performance as well. Take care! ❤

Dream Warriors is really the direct sequel to the first A Nightmare on Elm Street, as the story was by Wes Craven and it features the return of Heather Langenkamp as Nancy. Chuck Russell and Frank Darabont do a great job as director and co-screenwriter with Craven. My favourite Freddie kill on this is Philip with his puppet string veins...even though its rank lol. Favourite incarnation would be the sexy nurse bird.... Would love you two to watch the 'Psycho' and 'Omen' trilogies if you haven't already x

@@justindenney-hall5875 No one in their right mind counts Omen IV...and I'm aware of Psycho IV but to me the story finishes after Psycho III - Only a mong would even acknowledge the utter shit that is the remakes of the two originals.. The Omen remake isn't appalling but compared to the Donner version it is utterly bland and forgettable. Whereas next to Hitchcocks Psycho, Van Sant is shown up as an amateur who's feeble reputation with one weird film was totally destroyed by even attempting to top this... casting Vaughan for Perkins simply confirms the psychiatric care needed.

8:53 I never like it when baked pigs do that at my house. Guess I can't have just one normal Christmas dinner.

This is a nearly perfect movie! The only thing it's missing is Dave Rod

What you both said about your own dreams, for a while i dreamed regularly of being stalked around town by Michael Myers, it never seemed scary though, you know his speed, he never got close to me, weirdly for a dream i could move fast

Yesss I've been waiting for more Nightmare On Elm Street. Part 3 and up really showed Freddy expressing his creativity with his scares and killings and that's what makes him the goat to me because he's not your average slasher. Also the more funny he got, the more entertaining he was. Can't wait to see your reactions to part 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 which is Freddy Vs Jason

Favorite kill was the one with the TV, and it sounded like Freddy said "Welcome to prime time," not "come to prime time" but I could be wrong. What's my favorite Freddy monster? The worm. Every time I see it I'm reminded of the worm from one of the Poltergeists movies, the father had accidentally drank it and it grew in him until it took over. That was an unforgettable scene!

The triumphant, well-deserved return of heroine Nancy Thompson when she finishes the nightmarish nursery rhyme that Kristen Parker had recited!!!!
