A Part of Me - Logic Session Breakdown
In this video, I go through my logic session for my new single, A Part of Me. I recorded and produced this song myself, with the addition of the help of Jake Taenzler and Caitlin Kalafus on guitar and drums.

I got the idea for this logic session breakdown thing from Jacob Collier. He also influenced a lot of the way I produce music. In this video, I talk about different parts of the production of this song. I talk about how I made the drums and the different things that they do as well as names of percussion sounds. One of my favorite parts of producing a song is doing the background vocals. I love to really layer on a bunch of them. I also talk about the different stories tied to the song and how they are a part of the whole journey of this project. As a female producer, I think it's important to share my voice to encourage other girls to do this themselves too. Music production can TOTALLY be self taught, it's how I learned to do it. One way to teaching myself to produce music is by watching videos like these and seeing different people's process. I tried to explain things in this video in a way that anyone can understand, even beginners to music production. Music production can be hard at times, but in the end, it's so so rewarding. I have studied a little bit of music production in college and that has helped a bit, but I mostly taught myself through KZitem videos and figuring it out for myself. I do my music production on a mac, a macbook to be exact. I use Logic Pro X for all of it as well.
