It seems to (mostly) be a Gen Z movie reactor thing to get confused about this moment...when Dennis Nedry says "Gee, thanks Dad" to Hammond, he's being sarcastic because Hammond is lecturing him like a parent. Definitely not his son, just his employee.

@@RaefonB okay cool! I understood the comment was sarcastic. I just thought regardless of my age, the decade the movie came out in, and how your boss is talking to you it is weird and unprofessional to call your boss “Dad”. So I assumed maybe they were related as that would make the comment less weird, but I guess the unprofessional comment speaks to Dennis Nedry as a character.

@@jadieboo Yeah, he's definitely not the most professional guy in the workplace haha, I agree! I've read the novels as well, so can confirm they're not related.

Omg….that was crazy wasn’t it!!! For executive purposes & for how the Internet be internetting… Addition by subtraction that remark & figure out: we find we find that John does, indeed, has a child. A daughter. With her own kids……..a her own problems. A divorce matter of fact, consider we all know this before he even kicked in his first door & bribed anybody yet, when He did tell anyone, let alone Tim & Lex’s mom, about what happened to Geoffrey?

@@fscorpion678yeah, I figured it was sarcasm but I also thought it was weird and very unprofessional to call your boss dad. It’s something I would never do which is why I thought they could possibly be related because even though the comment was sarcastic it’s weird. But like I said to someone else in the comments, I think it just speaks to Dennis’ unprofessionalism as a character.

@@LarrySwishamane Maybe I missed this detail but hey I was watching these movie back to back two days straight plus I was really only doing a recap of major plot points not character analyses. I’m human dude 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
