Thank you for breaking things down for us newbies. I really appreciate your high quality videos. I recently got a Bambu Lab P1S and it's like night and day from the Anycubic Vyper I had. I've put three kilos of various filaments through it without a single failure.

I just got the M5C last weekend (it was on sale). I'm a total noob when it comes to 3d printing and thought it was super easy and really got me hooked to this new hobby. I'll eventually upgrade, but for now I'm very pleased with the quality of the prints and its ease of use. Also, drove me to look for 3d printing channels like yours!

Same! So far im very impressed with how easy it is to use, the quality and speed of the prints. The app makes finding models online very easy and i can fire off a print without going over to the printer to plug n a usb stick. I have started experimenting with orca slicer to print minis as well, the settings are much harder to dial in but thats part of the fun!

We got a ender 5 pro a few years back. Our first. I would say leveling the bed was such a hassle, adding a prob hassle, but prints came out fine, once we got the hang of that. These newer self-leveling bed seem nice and one we might go for. But we don't use it much so got to think about it. Nice review on this one.

I really don't get the "it has no screen" arguement I see from some people, I am a 3D printing noob but pretty much every label printer or regukar printer has bad screens that no one interacts with anyways, everything these days is done via app or desktop, and you always have your phone in hand, so it makes sense to me. I did just order this printer with Anker's brand new optional status screen for it, both on discount for under $380 shipped, so I can at least see what its doing. And I got a cheap wifi camera so I can monitor it away from home as well lol

It’s steps. It’s not knowing the exact status of the printer at a glance. I use all the screens on all of my printers. It tells you immediately what’s wrong. Paused? Jammed? Error. I don’t want to have to pull my phone out. Connect. Change printers and all that just so see why a printer is having an issue. It would be like having to use your phone to monitor the speed of your car. It’s just. Silly to have gotten rid of it.

I would be really curious to what changes you made to the slicing software to fix the print failure issues? I recently got one of these printers and can't get any prints working from that slicer but have zero issues using the app and some gcode files from something like cura slicer or even letting the app itself slice (although i stopped letting the app slice since you get very little control and they love to print with waaaaay to much/dense supports hahaha)

Been looking into getting a 3D printer recently, weighed up my options, was looking at the K1 as it's available where I'm from, plus it can fit into my budget, but not sure if I want to spend that money as yet cuz of the criticism it's been receiving compared to the K1 Max, which would be preferable for the scale of prints I'm planning on doing. Hope you get good mileage out of yours though, and would love to hear your thoughts on how good it is, and whether it's meeting your expectations and requirements

My personal opinion so take with a grain of salt but i feel the creality ender 3 v3 se is the best beginner printer, price point is perfect and it removes the hassle of dealing with the Z axis and needing to level the bed by eye or tricks. Ive put well over 500 hours onto my se and have done some fairly big prints (full 1/10 scale rc shells) and it has been phenomenal since day 1. No issues at all and being direct drive also is a plus.

Ankermake thought it was nozzle clog initially, after documenting my issue and sending them my receipt they denied me further help and support since I didn't buy it from them.. Recently, I’ve been having a little bit of layer shifting at the top few layers of my print on the Anker. It just started happening recently and this is even with prince that I have been doing flawlessly before. I’m not sure what’s been happening, but any advice would be appreciated! An easy example would be the retractable swords. The blades are becoming uneven, which is making it so that they are biting into each other, way too early making the blade super short. It can’t be the slicer because I was again flawlessly doing them before, so it has to be something with the printer itself?

Sponsored by AnkerMake! I’ve got nothing against sponsored videos generally, but wish you would show some integrity and mention it at the start of your video. 👎
@FranklyBuilt
8 ай бұрын
KZitem always displays a “Paid Promotion” tag when a video has an exchanging of goods or services. Many people misunderstand what “sponsored” means. Yes they sent me the printer to review and a subsequent payment. For a review video. Not a promotion or endorsement. Every word was my own. They had zero say in editing and talking points. And no authority over my own choices. If it was a promotional video they would’ve had more control over the final product. I don’t upload videos I don’t agree with. But I understand the confusion. Please don’t question my integrity when you yourself misunderstand the product and context.
@stevenqirkle
8 ай бұрын
@@FranklyBuilt why not take 15 seconds at the start of the video and clear up any confusion then about whether you were paid to make the video, whether you were sent the printer for free or not, whether the sponsor was able to see the video before being released on KZitem or has put any conditions on what you can say, etc? It’s kind of standard practice for reviewers on KZitem these days, and to me it’s a big red flag if reviewers don’t disclose these conflicts of interest. Even if you say they had no direct influence over the review, I believe that money, free stuff, and early access can have an influence on people - and knowing about a reviewer’s relationship with a company helps me to evaluate whether a review is impartial or not.
@FranklyBuilt
8 ай бұрын
@stevenqirkle because most people aren’t confused by that and I know for a fact it didn’t influence my video or decisions. It would be a waste of time. It’s a review video. I have a review of it. You same time the video to learn about the printer and I provided that. By adding extra stuff it only confuses people more who don’t understand the difference between a sponsorship, promotion or review. I’m not going to spent time on a product review video to explain the difference in approach, contracts, editing and revisions. That’s silly. At the end of the day I did exactly what I set out to do. The negations and terms behind the scene are my business and I provided KZitem with the proper video descriptions to ensure the content meets proper guidelines. That’s it. Nothing was hidden or fabricated. They paid me to host this review video on my channel. They did not pay me for a good review. A bad review. Anything beyond that. I wouldn’t have it on my channel if it was bias or a paid promotion in the manner of “only saying good things” Simple as that. And you making it through the whole video with my pros and cons shouldn’t be swayed by me saying it was a sponsored review or not. I said everything I wanted and meant it all.
@stevenqirkle
8 ай бұрын
@@FranklyBuilt I watched three reviews of the M5C before yours, and they all disclosed that they were sponsored by AnkerMake. I was not “confused” by any of the disclaimers. Yours was the only video I needed to scroll to the bottom of the description to find out it was sponsored by AnkerMake. All of the big tech reviewers on KZitem also include disclosures at the beginning of their videos. Are your viewers more easily confused than MKBHD’s viewers? Why not say what you just said right now at the beginning of the video? You were payed by AnkerMake to make the review, but your opinions are your own, etc? Seems pretty clear to me. Saying that disclosures will confuse people feels like a pretty big cop out when so many other channels are able to do it without issue. As does relying on KZitem’s “Paid Promotion” flag, which only conveys the absolute bare minimum amount of information which is legally required. I don’t think disclosing conflicts of interests is silly. It is important contextual information. You may feel that it has no bearing on how a review should be received, but I and many others disagree. By not including a disclosure at the beginning of your video, you are intentionally withholding information that some of your viewers consider valuable. Putting your own interests ahead of your viewers’, which - to put it bluntly - calls your integrity into question IMO. Your argument basically boils down to “trust me that being payed by AnkerMake has not biased my opinion at all”. But I think that if you were more transparent about paid sponsorships, it would only help to improve your trustworthiness.

This 3d printer is a huge flop! Lack of a good slicer is a big shot in the foot. There is no offline anything with the m5c which is a joke.The app is completely useless and the files on the app are very few and arent all stl files so you cant directly print 90 percent of those files.. The slicer will tell you 10 hour print and turn into 15 hour print somehow while printing. The fact that the company's on website lies about its own features should be enough to scare anyone away from buying this. And for the price, you can get many different 3d printers that utilize more types of filaments and have some sort of upgrade so your printer can do all the things you want with 10x better slicer. And the m5 is an even bigger joke with a camera that does nothing... I wouldnt recommend this to any entry-level person either because that's just predatory to suggest a bad product to someone who doesn't know any better.
