The themes Maynard sings about in Tool, APC and Puscifer are all different but universal to every human out there. He is no more human than anyone else but he has the amazing gift to capture pure emotion in his songs and I am so thankful that he has shared it with the world. He is one of the few artists out there who sing not to become popular or richer but to express his emotions and in some way help other people cope with theirs

I’ve been listening to this version since my brother played it on limewire on my giant desktop computer in like 2006 when I was 14. It’s such a hauntingly beautiful rendition that once you hear it, it’s hard to go back to the original.

Mer de Noms was released when I was 17 in May of 2000, and it forever changed my life. I bought it at the local CD store (there was next to no music online at that time) around the corner, and remember listening to this in my pool in the blistering July heat of Memphis TN. One of the most vivid memories I have until this day, 20 years later...I even remember seeing them on this tour in Nashville with Paz as part of the original lineup. I am so thankful I was given that opportunity...APC was not a major band at that time, and never realized how special that was exactly. Still have the shirt from that tour :)

The fact of the matter is this: there is good music, and there is bad music. Some good music goes unnoticed while some bad music is extremely prevalent in everyday culture. APC, Tool, and Puscifer(Maynard's bands) make good music, which for the most part go unnoticed. It's sad, really. It's okay, though. I'm still listening.

I think deifying people takes away some respect to what they go through and have gone through as human beings. "He's just born better than everyone - he's a god!" Maynard wasn't born a great singer, he made himself into one. He wasn't born a performer, he worked at it; he wasn't born a writer, he worked at it. When an athlete plays in a game and hits everything perfectly, what we don't see is the countless hours he's worked at perfecting his game. Same can be said for Maynard.

Im jealous that you'd found such good music at such an early age. But agreed, i can't quite put my finger on what it is. But there's something about the dynamics and sentiment in APC that will forever hold a melancholy strangle hold on me. Its nostalgic, depressing and uplifting all at once. Real music for the heart

Self realization and speculation on every aspect of what you see, taste, touch, smell; what you feel; what you experience, you're entire entity is created through a spark in the mind, and so may you create the world around you through... What else but the mind? Behind those eye's lies a wonderful capability. The capability to dream... with other people. This pain is all an illusion, but don't expect too much from the wounded who do not see themselves... The creator within us all must be found.
