Yo guys. Yeah it's not the traditional beef pho, but She says it's pho ga which is chicken pho. She mentions it twice right when she's done cooking it and when she's done putting it together. I think it looks bomb coming from someone who's parents cook pho all the time! I think it is a cool idea for people like me who are living away from the parents to make something of my own! Anyway! Loved this video!

get a slow cooker, if you want to play fancy get some beef bones, dunk everything into the slow cooker and wait for 5 to 6 hours on low, this would be the best way to get a good broth. seasoning after done cooking, it is very easy, salt, sugar, brown rock sugar if have (yeah 2 types of sugar here), add msg if you're brave. drain the broth before seasoning, put on the stove on high heat until it's hot and the seasoning is well devolved. done. for meat you can either have boiled chicken or very thinny sliced beef, which is the traditional way to eat pho. place the beef on top of the noodle then pour over the hot soup, it will be constantly cooked as the broth going through.

Ugh all these pho recipes on KZitem bugs me. From a Viet family, a good hearty bowl of steaming pho ga takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Never use chicken broth for pho, it's not worth it because using a whole chicken doesn't take a whole lot of time. An hour and fifteens minutes includes the prep. and the final product with juicy chicken and a clear chicken broth that is super aromatic!

Abigail Jimenez... make a rich vegetable broth adding dried shiitake mushrooms and roasted onion.... and pouring that over rice noodles and veggies.... slicing the rehydrated shiitake and some seared tofu can give you some meaty texture ... the latter some protein. Pho is really about the bone broth... but a vegetarian one can be made.

Why this is supposed to be a "cheating" recipe when it takes just as long to make you own Phở broth from whole chicken as the traditional recipe would suggest ? I mean you still have to spend time charring all of those aromatic ingredients anyway ? If you really want to cheat, chicken broth+ pre-made Phở spice bag at store+ simmer 30 mins then add chicken breast and job's done. Personally, just don't quite get this concept. However I would say if you want to go through all this to eat a bowl a Phở that you call " a quick one", head to a real Viet restaurant in stead and eat the real deal. That should be better. Otherwise, please invest real effort into the recipe by following the original Vietnamese way of making it.

I've seen a few videos with this "Seonkyoung Longest" and i've got to say, she has absolutely no idea what the hell she is talking about. And this "pho hack" might as well have been a scrapped video, why would I need a slowcooker for this when I can just do my own soup in the same amount of time without having to pay for extra premade soup that isn't seasoned to my own liking? I can't call this a hack at all, this doesn't accomplish anything at all other than making you spend more money on items you don't need for something you can do yourself in the same amount of time.
@julia_ruby
