That was an amazing video Nigel! Having all the experts working feverishly around the clump looked reminiscent of an Intensive Care Unit saving a patient. I'm really excited for you to see how they all turn out. If you're worried about the drainage in that pot you came back with, try soaking the clump with water only half way up the pot. That way the roots drink all the water they want, there's no danger of the trunk ever getting wet, and you can carry on working while the clump is soaking. It works for me. Cheers.

30:45 hi,Nigel! About brown leaves: i think too thick soap solution can pack leave's ('nostrils'), but young ones still expanding and exposing new and new clean tissues to air. Just thought

Very interesting, sometimes funny, watching all those folks dismantling the forest...Very cool that this 60 year old forest is going to a have many new lives...Watching the premier was great...Hope can figure out how to stumble onto more of your live events...And you ended up with such a nice tree to work with...a little jealous...Well done and thanks for sharing yet another cool event...

"if in doubt, cut it out" :D some years ago you said that the most drastic steps have to be made initially :P i hoped you'd cut the root stuff off haha. seems your patience is increasing with your aging :D i still want to do everything as fast (and borderline safe) as i can

To see all the Bonsai in different shapes and sizes makes me want to make more of them. (: I just sad on the couch an thought of my 2 meter long kompost sive drum an if it would be an feasible option to scale it down for siving heaps of Bonsai soil...🤔 Maybe this could be an idea for an upcoming winter video to build a small sieve drum out of mesh and stuff and with a little hand crank...

@Ficusforev looks more like Crosby compact to me...its tough to differentiate the difference without examining the leaves.. minor tend to grow random leaf patterns whereas crosby compact grow pretty consistent.

@@dkstott29 i dont think it would be a crossbys compact otherwise the leaves would be yellow if it is in sun
