Earlier this summer, through the generous support of an anonymous benefactor, members of the faculty of Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary visited the Holy Land and Mount Sinai to better their understanding of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The group of pilgrims included Archimandrite Gregory, our Old Testament Lecturer; Schemanun Eupraxia, our New Testament Instructor; Esther Schenone, our Librarian; and Timothy Schenone, our Digital Media and Visual Marketing Specialist. A member of our Board of Directors, Mother Agapia of the Convent of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Cleveland, New York, was their enthusiastic guide throughout the trip.
This video highlights some of the best moments that occurred during the Mount Sinai portion of the trip. In addition to the summit of the mountain itself, the pilgrims were blessed to visit Saint Catherine's Monastery, including its ancient library and the incredible museum that holds the world-famous Sinai Pantocrator Icon!
