Even if we consider this from a non-religious point of view, human still needs a level of mental calmness to cope with the unpleasant life situations. Whether the life problems are deterministic or by our own wrong decisions and actions, we are the ones that should deal with them. An all-over scattered mind generates thoughts and emotions which result in wrong actions or mental health issues like depression. For attaining such level of mental peace, man needs to trust something. That thing cannot be something that itself is temporary in nature and prone to shortcomings, mistakes, and decay. The only existence that remains permanent is this vast universe. If we trust this universe and harmonize ourselves with it, the same power that is guiding this universe will guide us too and will not leave us alone. Simply because human is also an inseparable part of the universe.
