Skippy is still some good peanut butter, after all these decades! Red Buttons would later win an Academy Award. Burt Shevelove would help write the Broadway classic "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" He would be helped by Larry Gelbart, who created the TV version of "MASH." Then there is "Circus Boy" which featured Mickey Braddock (he later changed his name back to Mickey Dolenz and co-starred in "The Monkees." Richard Boone played a doctor before he became a gunslinger in "Have Gun Will Travel."

Some of these programs were regional because coast to coast broadcasting was still in its infancy . I was born in 1952 and was pretty well into t v viewing when some of these programs were out . but the problem was that the geography of the united states is so varied . every broadcast range was inherent on the type of topography such as mountains and desert . syndication was still in its infancy so there were some that were shown nationally , but not all .

There was a sponsor I.D. following the opening title, which went like this: JACKSON BECK: "Presented by CHESTERFIELD KING! The cigarette MADE for the 'Men of America'! The men who KNOW.....NOTHING beats the BIG CLEAN TASTE of TOP-TOBACCO like CHESTERFIELD KING!"

FYI: The Invisible Man was portrayed by 2 actors, Johnny Scripps did the physical acting & Tim Turner provided the voice.

"THE JOSEPH COTTEN SHOW" was a 1959 summer repeat anthology (it filled in for "THE ANN SOTHERN SHOW" that summer for her sponsor, General Foods {Post}) hosted by Cotten, featuring previous episodes of "SCHLITZ PLAYHOUSE".

It was a half-hour drama anthology show of repeat episodes originally aired on other drama anthology series that included a couple of unsold pilots as well. It was the norm in the latter half of the 50s to have such repackaged series under a new title, often used as mid-season and summer fillers. Turning Point aired on NBC through the spring and summer of 1958 on Saturdays at 9:30 pm, having replaced The Gisele MacKenzie Show.

YES. "THE GISELE MacKENZIE SHOW" lasted 26 weeks....it didn't draw enough viewers as "HAVE GUN-WILL TRAVEL" did on CBS, so Schick {and the "alternate sponsor", Scott Paper Company} cut their losses, and scheduled a "package" of anthology repeats and two unsold pilots.......
