Fun Fact: Because my grandfather was a local legend, I was basically accepted, at age 6, into a volunteer fire department. At first, I was just that kid that rode on fire trucks in parades, but when I was 8 they started taking me to fires and putting a hose in my hands.

@@alittlebitoflyss - I work PT at GEG. I often get an opportunity to chat with flight deck and cabin crew members as we walk to and from the employee parking lot, thus have learned a LOT about the industry. One topic that often comes up is commuting - not only is the consensus that it's hard, but that it also takes a toll on your body physically (especially fatigue.) The added expense of having a crash pad can also add up, sometimes to the point of exceeding the cost of living in base when combined with your normal rent. The other common comments are related to the actual commuting, and how things like passenger loads, weather, and maintenance issues can sometimes jeopardize getting to your assignment on time. I'm not trying to be a Negative Norman here, just sharing thoughts about commuting that other industry professionals have shared with me that I hope you understand as you get involved with that aspect of your job. I like to read also! I have a whole stack of "TBR" books that I'm slowly working my way through, mostly biographies, various industry histories, intrigue (think Ian Fleming and John Grisham), and unusual human event stories (Google "Snowbound Streamliner" as an example.) Something that I like to do when not watching vlogs by my favorite FAs!! Nice vlog, hoping Part 2 will be coming soon - maybe you'll answer viewer's questions next time? As always, Cheers from GEG ❣

Alyssa I'm so excited to hear you'll be moving into the same town as Damon! Happy for you! Also really proud of you, knowing you're not happy in a place and taking the step to move somewhere new that you think you'll be more happy. That's a huge step! My fun fact is I work in law enforcement and my boyfriend is a pilot. Your experiences help me understand his days a little more as well and I've grown so invested in your life! Love going on your trips with you. (Saw Happy Place by Emily Henry on your shelf, that one is so so good! My favorite by that author.) 🥰

All jobs have challenges, thats why you get paid 🤪 I do hope you get to keep “your” line! Favorite emoji..😎 perhaps, definitely try to write all my messages with a smile. (The palm tree ones are fun too, but cannot find those right now) Good luck with the move! Sounds like you’d be better of in a smaller town or suburb, easier to connect. I was desperate to return back to Australia, and people thought l was crazy. Singapore is a dream location to live, right?
