re: driving test - thanks for letting me know your countries do that too! i guess that was a bad example 🥲 i was just tired of the classes being so obsessed with the test without actually teaching things i felt were important like paying attention to other drivers (we never really learned about merging, switching lanes, etc) and being told i didnt turn my emergency flashers on fast enough over and over was the final straw 😂 but i learned something new so thank you!!

so tanghulu is originally a chinese snack, and it's traditionally made with this chinese native fruit called hawthorn berry! they're small and kind of look like tiny apples and are a bit sour and a bit bitter. that's why it's covered in sugar :) i LOVE tanghulu when it's made the traditional way but i agree i'd also rather have good strawberries on their own!

So yeah nobody is going to say/ think anything about you for doing things alone, except maybe your friends that want company

little add-on to your advice on traveling/eating out solo etc. I have traveled solo extensively for years and generally tend to look for restaurants that have bar or kitchen counter seating. And it's never been a problem. HOWEVER, last year when i was in Amsterdam of all places, I was having lunch at a super cool restaurant and observing the scene etc and a young waitress asked me if I'd like a book to read - she was clearly projecting her discomfit of eating out alone on me. Even to this day, I feel a little insulted by that experience. LOL. And, btw, I am going to be in Seoul for 3 weeks in May and your vlog has been so helpful. Really excited about my upcomign trip.

Hey Cari, can I ask about the considerations that make you and Kurt want to move to the US? -- or maybe you've talked about it in another video? :) I'm from SEA but have lived in France and now the Netherlands for the past 8 years, and I'm wondering what would make someone who's already settled down(?) want to move out of Asia. I hope that doesn't come off as rude😆 It's just that to me living in an Asian country is much more convenient than living in the 'West', but maybe I'm wrong since I have only gone back occasionally for vacations, or maybe it's the cultural differences between us as people. Either way, please ignore this question if you think it's too personal

Also an INFJ and my hubby is one also, we have talked about this so much, I think in general INFJs tend to flock together since we are so unique. So many of our close friends are also. What helped me see the full picture was when my job had us all take the test and I was the only INFJ and there were so many more ES** types and I would never hang with those people after work because they are too much mentally. It was a nice big picture snap shot vs a community snap shot.

Thanks for this video Cari, I had fun watching it! Your videos have inspired me to go exploring cities alone more, though I'm still working on actually eating in a restaurant by myself. There's one question coming up for me as you're talking about wanting to teach more: how do you deal with taking planes when we know how bad it is for climate change? This is something I'm struggling with for myself and I'm interested to know how you think about it. Thanks always!
@caricakes
7 ай бұрын
Long distance flights are not the issue when it comes to climate change. The issue is the shorter flights (such as flying from nyc to boston or la to sf, etc as well as private plane travel) I will always try to take a bus or train even if its more expensive than take a flight under 4 hours. And i will always pay more money for a non stop flight if possible to only have one take off and landing.

Hi Cari! I thought you probably wouldn't mind me sharing this: 16personalities is actually not MBTI, it's a Big5-based test that uses the MBTI letters (+ a fifth letter)-I'm not sure why, possibly for traction. They also state that on their website if you dig for long enough... (I'm a huge mbti nerd and the general community agrees that 16personalities is not a good place to get accurately typed). So, as you said, INFJ is one of the rarest types in MBTI, but on 16personalities a bunch of people get it assigned, therefore making it seem way less rare. It's that way with most rare types on that website, making many believe they are an mbti type, even though it's just their 16personalities/big 5 alignment. Anyway, something positive: I have a friend who isn't too into reading long series, so I'm currently watching your acotar summaries with her and filling her in on more details myself, and we're having a lot of fun!

That illustration that confused you so much on your mbti results is one of the Biblical stories of Solomon, the wisest man. 2 women came to court claiming a baby was their own child, and the other woman’s child died during the night. They both accuse each other of stealing the child and putting the dead baby in its place. After listening to them argue back and forth, he suggests cutting the baby in half, both getting an equal piece. One woman basically says “sounds good, bring the sword” the other says “it’s her‘s, don’t hurt the child”. King Solomon declares the woman who gave up the child is the true mother bc no mom would let harm come to their child.

I looked it up and there’s a really great quora answer regarding this. Apparently the most common type among women is ISFJ, but because of a lot of women’s value on intuition, it can skew results towards INFJ. There’s also the phenomenon that INFJ women attract other INFJ women so it makes sense for a group where the central figure (Cari) is an INFJ to get so many of them in the comments section. But may I just say that I love that you’re a different personality type?

I've watched your book channel and I've just recently found her vlog channel. I've been binge-watching all your videos and you're so calming after a long day at school. I wanted to say I feel like you and your husband have a Washington state vibe. I also live here so I'm biased. Anyways I love your videos

i love when people say they love cashews but they've actually only tried the nuts and not the fruit 😂
