Great to see you passing on your knowledge and skills. Should have met you before I dropped my brand new CB350 crossing a ford back in '73!

Good stuff. Agree with everything you say about the Himalayan in particular - I took mine out yesterday and there was still a lot of sheet ice around in South Devon and there was a couple of times I got to the other side and thought, "How the F.. am I still upright?" - it really does look after you.

+1 for the Bridgestone AX tyres, surprisingly capable and wear relatively well. Have them on my Rally now and confidence inspiring on road rather than knobbies

Agree with your summary of female/ male pupils. Done quite a few footplate tasters where someone has an hour driving a steam engine up and down about a half mile section. Females take instruction better and generally listen, and often have a better mechanical’ feel’. The men can be very difficult, especially the ones that driven some thing before, at another railway. Won’t be told, and rough technique. Two best hours by a country mile? Both women.

The TRK702 looks a good proposition, also Himmy 450 & CF Moto 450MT when we get that. Some possibly great bikes coming out aren't there...

As ever great content advice and reflection on different topics. Seems the 452’s are going the long way round and the dealers don’t seem to know what they are getting. Meanwhile the 400 Triumph’s are now landing and being reviewed…. Might cost RE some bike sales ….. maybe

Hi Kevin. I'm not sure what my plans are yet. Can't do today and tomorrow I might be going up to collect the Triumph 400X. Sorry about that! But if I don't head to Triumph I'll let you know.

Hi Nathan. I find my himalayan is very slippery in the front with the stock tyres. What tyres do you suggest to improve this as well as being good on the tar.? Would appreciate your advice on this. Cheers

The shop I'm getting mine from suggested tkc80's. Are they any good for UK riding this time of year? I thought they were more of a 50/50 tyre
