I am so happy that you found me DeVlinder, and happy you are enjoying my tutorials. In this rainbow video I am using water mixable oil paint. The medium I am using is water mixable linseed oil, and I use it to make the paint spread easier. I use very little. The oil helps a lot with the blending. You could use any clear water mixable oil medium. Hope this answers your question. 🌹

Beautiful! Suggestion: look into getting a fast drying medium. I use gamblin galkyd low viscosity. It dries in 36 hours and you only need very very small amounts. I have using this medium for more than 7 years. I am not sure if it would work for water mixable paints, I would like to know if it does or if there is another option. Then this painting could be done in less than a week. 🦄🦄🦄
@PaintingWithYovette

Thank you for the tip Star! I have some of that Galvin gel, and used it once, and didn't care for it. Probably because I don't know how to apply it. I also have Liquin, but that did not seem to work well with WMO. How do you apply Galvin when you use it. Just a little on the canvas, or a little on your brush, or mixed in with the paint? Lots of questions.
@starofdestinykreationsplus
10 ай бұрын
I pour a small amount of galkyd in a small container like you would for liquid white. A little goes a long way. Then I mix a very small dab at the end of my brush into the paint I am mixing. With liquid white you want to do the same, a small amount at the end of the tip of the brush and mix into the liquid white, you can also do this on the canvas as you are spreading it on. It will stay wet for a good 24 hours to paint on...after that it gets tacky. By 36 hours it's dry. It's great because you can do many layers in shorter time span and it still allows the oils to cure over time. Do Not mix into the whole palette of paint... I want those to stay wet. Just the ones you are using to add to the canvas or mixing in to use . When the galkyd is dried out in the container, it pulls off like plastic. Hope this is understandable! 😊😊😊
@starofdestinykreations2650

Oh! If the paint mixed is feeling tough or won’t spread well just add more linseed medium to it. It still dries well in 36 hours.

Hi. This painting is spectacular. I learned a lot about drying times and the tips and techniques you used. I have a couple of questions. 1. Why did you mix linseed oil with thinner? 2. What do you do with your finished pieces of art?
@PaintingWithYovette
Жыл бұрын
Oh my, those are great questions Deanie. I use linseed and thinner mix because I like the way it makes the paint blend, especially for a base coat. Linseed oil by itself is a little thick, and thinner is a little too thin. There are times when I will use just one, or the other, but I like the blend. Somehow it makes the paint just right so it's nice and smooth. As for what I do with my paintings? When they are finshed I usually put them on the wall for a while and enjoy looking at them. Then they go in a pile for storage. I have recently been thinking about selling them on FB because I have so many of them, but just thinking for now. Hugs 🤗🌹🌈

As I explained in my video, Barbara, a bunny brush is just simply a soft blending brush, sometimes called a Hake brush. On my channel, I have a whole section of water mixable oil paintings that you can learn from. When I use water mixable oils, I use water mixable oil thinner and linseed oil. (not regular.) Also, I use water mixable oils with my acrylic brushes and my oil painting brushes. You just have to make sure to clean them out really well before switching products. Goodoness Pritikumar, thank you for such a nice compliment about my teaching. You have some great questions. As you watch more of my videos you will see that I use no particular kind of brushes. I really like natural bristel brushes, (like the floral brush made from softer badger animal hair.) I like hog hair bristel, (such as the fan brush which is stiffer.) And I enjoy synthetic brushes (as used with acrylics.) I find all brushes work with Water mixable oil paint. (WMO). The bunny brush is simply a very soft blender brush made of goat hair. Also called a Hake or blender. WMO is very similar to acrylics as far as cleaning. Only sopa and water, no chemicals. The difference from acrylic and WMO, they stay wet much longer so it's much easier to blend colors. The smell are wonderful because you are not using chemicals. Cleanup is a breeze! 😊 I have a whole section of WMO videos on my channel. You can view them here: kzitem.info/door/PLhGho3cOJqur5TMtlCvq5H042hdDcFLaX Thank you for your questions. @JoAnnLilyflower The color is the same as the oil but it is diluted with water.Examples of car paint are now also diluted with water and working with them is better than they were before.I myself often use oil paints diluted with water.They can also be mixed with normal oil paints without thinning.I live in Europe and currently only get one brand of these colors here.The colors are fine, but I don't know how long they will keep the contrast I am adding media.I've always had trouble cleaning my brushes however, various prescribed cleaners destroyed them.There is no problem with these colors because they can be cleaned with soap and water.The colors I get here but they are somewhat rare so working with them, for example with a knife, is difficult.You have a larger selection of colors to buy there, so you won't have a problem Several models will also be imported to Europe and I'm waiting because at the moment it is not worthwhile for me to order from abroad due to excessive costs.Try the colors and you will be satisfied. I apologize for my bad English I speak several foreign languages, but German is the most common.
