Wow!! As a Jersey girl who moved long ago, this brings back memories. I saw Bad Brains in Asbury, though I don't remember when or where. I've been to Asbury lanes so many times!! I saw a lot of Ska bands there like the Koffin Kats. Ocean Grove was beautiful too!! I went to the annual zombie walk they had at the boardwalk too. Atlantic city is sad to see now, it was soo cool in the 80s and 90s. Great video ♥️

I have a cool Stone Pony story. My cousin's band was opening for another band, but the drummer for my cousin's band couldn't make it last second due to illness. The lead singer for the headliner band sat in as the drummer for my cousin's band and basically learned songs on the fly with around 30 minutes notice. They played for about 30 minutes, then started just a jam song after their closing song, and then one-by-one the headlining band joined in, with their drummer taking over for the lead singer mid-song without missing a beat too. So at one point they had four guitarists, two bass players and a drummer going, then one-by-one my cousin's band each got off the stage. The crowd of maybe 250-300 people was going nuts during it.

Haddonfield, NJ looks absolutely beautiful in Christmas decorated. There's a really good British restaurant there. The face on the side of the building, Tillie, the original one is gone, but it was saved before the building was demolished.. it was on the Palace Amusements building. There s a tribute on Wonder Bar. I was in Asbury lanes before the new owners took over and remodeled. It was great to see bands play in the middle of bowling lanes while people bowl. I saw Samiam, Walter Schreifels, and I think Saves The Day. I also saw a huge 3 day festival which had like 5 or 6 stages setup, including one on the boardwalk which was awesome.

If you are going to Haddonfield, there are several places worth seeing. Yes, it is the inspiration for Haddonfield, Illinois. The writer of the film Halloween was from Haddonfield, NJ. Haddonfield is also the site where the first nearly complete Dinosaur skeleton was found, Hadrosaurus Foulkii, named after the town and the man who found it. There is a small park at the end of a residential street that ,marks the area where it was found. Look for a picnic table at that site. You will see why I pointed that out when you get there. And there is a statue of the dinosaur on the main street of the town.

I'm originally from NJ. Born in Kearny. Mostly grew up in Toms River where the Amityville Horror was filmed. I even watched some the filming of that movie as a kid. You should check out the Toms River Amityville Horror locations if you haven't yet. In 1991, the first movie I was lucky enough to ever work on (as a camera intern) was filmed at the Jersey Shore in Asbury Park, Belmar, Spring Lake and Long Branch. That movie starred Jeff Goldblum, Rory Cochrane, Famke Janssen (her debut movie), Samuel Jackson and Rosanna Arquette (who played a "psychic" in Asbury Park. That Madam Marie place may have been where we filmed her part). No one's ever heard of it. No one has seen it. Though I have a DVD copy of it I got years ago, it's very difficult to find and watch these days. I went on to shoot a few of my own films at the Jersey Shore in the early 90's. I made a short film and music video in Asbury Park in 1993. Part of the short film was also shot in Sandy Hook a couple miles away from where Clerks was shot and at around the same time strangely enough (April 1993).

The Asbury Park boardwalk also had a scene filmed on The Sopranos when Tony found out one of his capos was a rat. Also, when you shot the geese, the big hotel in the background was The Berkeley Carteret, a very popular hotel and banquet venue. Not sure if it is still the same name. I had my senior prom there in the late 80's and I remember a manager telling me they served many famous people there over the years. East of Main Street is so beautiful now.
