UK was never on my radar but I started to look into it after starting to watch your videos a few months ago. Might apply this cycle! What are some of your favorite things about UK Law, and living in Lexington?

You should apply! I love living in Lexington. It's pretty diverse and midsized but still has that southern charm feel. I also feel like UK Law is a great place to get your legal education just bc we have access to great faulty + so many opportunities

Hi please someone tell me if I study law in UK for example, that means I studied British law, right? Will I be able to work in any other country except UK. And secondly why are there so many options for bachelor's like criminal law, family law what to choose? I'm so confused

Hi! I'm not super knowledgeable about how useful a law degree from the UK would be in the States. You would likely still need to attend law school and pass the Bar Exam in the States to practice law. You don't need to major in anything specific to apply to law school in the States, you just have to take the LSAT and have a four-year degree. After you finish law school and take the Bar, you can choose which area of law you want to practice in (healthcare, criminal, family, etc.). I hope this helps!!

@@legallykait My main goal is to be a diplomat so I'm really kinda confused between international law and international relations because I don't really know what's better and I don't want to make a decision that I will regret my whole life so please tell me a bit about this

The UK has a “common law” legal system which is different to the US. You will be able to practice in countries which also have “common law” systems (such as Australia, Canada, Ireland). When you go to “law school” in the UK, you apply straight after high school with your high school grades along with application. After law school you can choose two routes. 1. To become a solicitor (think behind the scenes, corporate, paperwork) 2. To become a barrister (think of a typical ‘lawyer’ in the courts). For both options you will complete a number of exams (post degree) and then a number of months-years training under already qualified professionals. I’m in law school in Ireland 🇮🇪, hope this helped!
