Would like to see how you spool these baitcasters. No moving parts to spread on the spool.

Great ebay buy,POC. Would like to see a bit more in-depth on how you clean & oil your reels, rather than skipping to the results so quickly - I know it's a slog to worry about video camera placement & post production while you are working quickly, but you DO have an archive of great vids . Well done. And thank you.

Puting enough information in video without making it boring and drawn out (God knows theirs enough of them on youtube) is for me the most difficult level to pitch at ...but I beleave I have a solution, working on it.........

Takes me back to being a kid and my dad practicing his casting on the local football pitches. He had both of the two makes, sadly I abused and destroyed them as a teenager. I wish I could go back and give my self a thick ear.

POC could you possibly do a video showing your parts washer in a bit more detail? I am assuming it works using a solenoid valve a would be greatly interested to see the workings off it, thanks.

Great job, Poroldchap! You saved the reels, saved space at the landfill, and saved a bit of fishing history too! Hope you caught some fish with them.

There's nothing better (for me) than restoring something like this, even if I have no interest in the end product and just give it away. Knowing I've sent something back into the world in better condition than i received it is the reward.

Hi , you didn't state what type of grease to put back in ? Thanks for the video !
@eddiekeeler9955

Use marine grease like Evinrude triple guard or Quicksilver 2-4-C on all the metal parts. A nice thin coat will work. Replace old drag washers and replace them with carbon fiber drag washers and use a TEFLON BASED grease on them such as Cal's universal reel and drag grease, or Shimano drag grease, or Quicksilver 2-4-C or similar. Greased carbon fiber drags are smooth and you don't lose a lot of drag, it is negligible.

Nice to see them put back in service. Maybe you could send a copy of the video to company that built the reel you tossed.
