Kindly watch in HD! (And read the description if you have a mind to do so?)
Okay, two quick things: this video is a milestone for me! It's my first time using both echo and repitching. Hopefully, I butchered neither. Secondly, I was frustrated that I didn't finish my Fourth of July video, but I'm so proud of this one that it more than makes up for it.
I ship Hannibal/Clarice with a burning passion. Theirs is such a profound, mostly-psychological relationship, and the tension between them is delicious. (I used no clips from Hannibal because I wasn't crazy about Julianne Moore's Clarice, or the movie as a whole, frankly.) Silence of the Lambs, however, is a masterpiece.
If you've read "Hannibal" you probably know that Hannibal wanted/tried to "replace" Clarice with his little sister, Mischa ("a place could be made for Mischa in the world, the worthiest place that Dr. Lecter knew: Starling's place), but of course it didn't work. Likewise, Clarice had to (eventually) truly recover from the loss of her beloved father before she could move on and be happy. I tried to show that they both had need of a "resolution" in this video -- thus the B&W bits.
1:27 -- 1:28 : "So you take care now."
1:30 : "Dr. Lecter?"
1:47 -- 1:53 : "You think if Catherine lives, you won't wake up in the dark ever again to that awful screaming of the lambs."
2:16 -- 2:18 : "You're so close to the way you're gonna catch him, do you realize that?"
3:27 -- 3:29 : "The world's more interesting with you in it."
Anyway, not TOO complicated, and an absolutely perfect song for them. Enjoy!
