Hey man I’ve been there before, I remember the first time I swam ocoee, 5 mins after I put on, then I swam again 10 minutes later. I was so in my head I wanted to quit kayaking, I thought it wasn’t for me. It’s very mental

Occoe was the highlight river for me during week of rivers; paddled w/ the burn. Most difficult river i paddled. Loved watching your video. You're super anazing paddler. Saw you on the Occoe playing-- i might have bailed & walked out after swiming two holy holes. Exhausting!

Jer, no expert by any means but I would love to paddle sometime and show you how to escape those ledges and holes in style. My sons too light in too big a boat to escape any hole so we have some “tricks” that make for Bastet escapes. For sure when confidence gets kicked, it’s time to take a break and eat a sammich (dad talk for sandwich) and chill. Great video none the less swims included, know why? Cause it’s real and it’s honest. keep trucking and tucking!

Absolutely down for it! Where about are you based? Theres been a lack of rain lately so I havent been able to get out too much. Also, this video was a few months ago. I've improved my hole escape skills considerably since then, but I would still love for you to show me how you all do it! Always a good day to learn more haha

@@JerKayaks based on concord, about 30 minutes to USNWC and 50 minutes from the new park opening in summer on the Catawba in SC. We mainly freestyle, my sons only been in a boat 4 months but progressing well. We have family in Bryson where I grew up so we hit up NOC from spring to fall when we can as well.

Another great report. Feel for you on that run. One thing to mention that I recently found out, IR offers a skirt repair service for any brand of skirt - I'm sending them two of my skirts this weekend to get fixed up.
