As a South African, as much as constant reminding of this defeat hurts, it also shows the raw passion of Japan which firmly brought their nation into the rugby fold. They humbled a giant. See you in France in a few months time Japan. We South Africans desperately need some light (pun intended!) in our lives and a back to back world cup win will shine so bright. 🏆🏆🇿🇦

I remember watching this in Cape Town at V&A Waterfront...the entire restaurant was in utter shock and disbelief, many of us were disappointed and just could not understand how we could have lost to "The Minnows" and tell you what... WE WERE PROPERLY HUMBLED and from then on, We as South Africa NEVER AGAIN underestimated any team, especially at the World Cup. 2 World Cups later, back to back champions, we however STILL RESPECT the likes of THE ALL BLACKS and every other Rugby Playing Nation. See the thing about Humility is this,It is very painful and bitter when visited upon you by life itself as opposed to when one has spawned it on his own...it is just not the same. After witnessing what that victory meant to the Japanese players and her people in general,South Africans vowed NEVER to be complacent and arrogant EVER again... that's the reason why the BOKS are happy to be underdogs and allow their rugby on the day do the talking. This was by far one of the greatest and miraculous rugby matches ever, this will still beat the recent 2023 Quarter Final against France where the Bokke prevailed 28-27...no match will ever compare to this one emotionally.✌🏿🇿🇦

As a South African, this scene hurts so much to watch, but now I see a Japan that with a bit of hope, and leadership (Eddie Jones), they mastered the giants. Respect! This monumental transformation. The Japanese followed Eddie (a genius of the game, love it or hate it) and the rewards were a result. Other teams, I feel fight his instruction and as a result find a stubborn and bitter Eddie. England and it's media have stained his reputation.
