Hello there! I play wave 666 and expert a lot and I play most classes except spy, sniper and pyro. As a scout, I can do wave 666 at A+. My loadout is almost always soda popper because it's the cheapest, so I can upgrade it pretty early on in the wave to kill tanks. Mad milk all the way, until crit bots spam comes. Then I switch to bonk, it's impossible to dodge those bots, the one shot you if not at 200+ HP. Bonk lets me collect money every 20 seconds and rest of the time I run in and shoot them. With this I can do this wave without dying. As for melee, this is my opinon: Sandman is best for late waves and 666. Not only can you make giants stay in one place for 7 seconds, you can mark anything except deflector heavys at any distance. This is extremly useful as all dmg knocks you back away from your targets and bots will almost always aggro towards you when in the air. Sandman is OP because of one advanced strat: Stunning Sentry busters. I can pull it off most of the time with one ball but with 7 it's laughably easy. Stunned SB will suicide after 3 seconds so you're helping your engi and your tean as they don't have to worry about SB blowing up behind their backs.

It's so nice to see an MvM guide that actually, you know, GUIDES new players. All the other guides I've seen just rant for 15 minutes about "these are the objectively best upgrades blah blah blah" without properly explaining why. This usually leads to new players who just mindlessly get those upgrades for the sake of having them, and they still end up playing horribly because they don't know how to use them effectively.

FYI, in MvM, you seem to be underestimating the power of Scout's scattergun. Scout is one of the best giant and tank killers in the game. Resistances aren't really needed in early waves since dropped money gives you a load of health. If you're worried about dying, you're probably in a terrible position and resistances wouldn't have saved you anyway which you admit yourself with the laser Heavies. Some might worry about not collecting money while shooting stuff, but the money gravitates towards you anyway when you blast the bots point blank. Also, dying has little consequence since Scout is blessed with ultra fast respawn. PS: Please don't annoy us Spy mains by doing funny jukes on giants when we're about to make plays on the giants. More often than not, Scouts get the Spy killed rather than accomplishing anything. PSS: It's still a good video though.

FYI: The Soda Popper does more DPS than the shortstop if you equip the scattergun, go out of spawn, change your loadout to the soda popper, get a non-scattergun upgrade, and then get one tick of firing speed in the same window (don’t close it)

The Force-A-Nature also works quiet nicely as a primary weapon, since it can knock small robots back and atleast stop big robots from moving forward for a second.

Oh yes I forgot about this one. It plays more Into a support role rather than a damage dealer. :)
@numpad6467

Definitely. I've always used the Force-A-Nature, and the hard knockback is more reliable than the Shortstop's shove if one of those little scouts gets by with the bomb. I don't have a Fan of War or Milk yet, but the Sandman works pretty well as a mark tool for most maps and for secondaries, the Pocket Pistol and cleaver can both be passable substitutes. Pocket pistol for a good survival tool in a pinch, or cleaver can be a good way of cleaning up little stragglers provided you can land one.
@billyaepicgamer8642

I've seen good FaN plays but in the MvM community, knockback weapons are seen in a negative light due to how they throw off your teammate's aim (and get your Spy killed). You probably noticed this mentality from when a Pyro gets cussed out for airblasting stuff.
@roager5571
3 жыл бұрын
@@billyaepicgamer8642 In my opinion it depends in the team. If the team for the life of me cant stand theire ground and need every extra second I can give them with the extra bit of knockback I tent to run Force-A-Nature. If everything goes well I go for stock or sodapopper.
@billyaepicgamer8642

@@roager5571 From my experience, if you have doo doo teams, then you're either dying too easily or they aren't doing enough damage. I personally run Spy when with such a team due to the fact it's generally the giants giving teams trouble and Spy eats giants. Knockback imo delays the problem rather than tackles it directly.

When you go with this playstyle you're pretty much being an idle player. The only thing you need to know about playing MvM Scout: Do damage. When you do that you're pretty much doing everything else.

I kinda picked up on the Mad Milk-Fan O' War combo on my own. Thought the slow effect and healing from Mad Milk pairs nicely with your team if you can soak a large number of robots, and the mini crits from Fan O' War works nice to help keep Sentry Busters away from my Engineer. Get the speed drain upgrade for the Mad Milk, milk the Buster, slap it with the Fan O' War, and watch that thing M E L T to my Heavies.

1. oH nO iT's AnOtHeR pReDiCtAbLe MeTa ScOuT gUiDe. 2. Metards: "Sure, Scout might be a decent damage class in PvP, but in MvM his special healing buff, faster respawn time compared to all of the other classes, favorable treatment in the balancing of the upgrade station, and ability to exploit robots' limited movement prediction abilities makes him weaker... somehow." 3. For all intents and purposes, Soda Popper and Force-A-Nature are better at shredding tanks than Shortstop. Shortstop is only *theoretically* better because it has more upgrades, but the game is always over or almost over before you actually have enough money to get the Shortstop to surpass the other guns. 4. The best resistance is killing the robots before they can shoot you. :D Criticism aside, the video itself is pretty well-made, even if I disagree with the content. I recommend Mr. Underscore's Scout guide, which goes a little more in-depth (and kind of dunks on this playstyle).

I left a similar comment just now. I mean the vid is good enough when a newer player is seeking loot although they make Scout feel like a chore. Also, I don't see any of those meta arguments :)
