It was really interesting to learn more about you since I've been watching your channel for so long. I'm vegan and I think its great that your diet is 90% plant based. I don't understand why some people think that less than 100% commitment to veganism is failing. The world would be a much better place if everyone ate just a little bit more plant based rather than having a small percentage of full time vegans.

Thank you!! I always advocate for people to reduce rather than cut out completely!

Actually, having healthy happy vegans around has encouraged me to shift that way. There just aren't around here in the northern Midwest US so emily and others have helped remind me there are alternatives.

I really resonated with your interest in writing from a young age. ☺️ I filled notebooks with random stories, but never had the patience to finish them. Thanks for sharing! ❤️

Probably sick of me commenting at this point(!), but as much as I love all your content, this was easily one of my favourites! You’re just such a genuinely nice person and to hear a lot how hard you’ve worked and your commitment to your values is so impressive! Also, as someone who studied philosophy at university, love that you also like the subject! Just sad that as I don’t have Instagram, couldn’t ask a question :) but I do have one: what would your absolute dream job be now?

i love writing too and i hope to figure out a way to pursue it, so hearing about your experience was really motivating! i’m nervous to study it in university bc as a career it doesn’t always seem as ~reliable~ as other options, but i really appreciate hearing your input on it, especially since many of the other things you shared reminded me so much of myself, so thank you!

This was so fun and interesting to watch 😄 I loved the story about your copywriting career - I’m in the middle of switching from writing to a different degree, so I totally get the identity crisis thing. Writing has been part of my life for so long now, but I know it’ll still be part of my life for a long time after I switch 😊 I hope you guys are staying safe in England!! ❤️

Moving from creative writing to journalism could indicate a (subconscious) acknowledgement you want to have more resource material to write about! Seems natural. Don't be surprised if later in life you come back to creative writing once you've investigated, unlocked, and understood life and nature more.

I always use oat milk instead of regular milk (I'm not fully vegan or anything either, I adore cheese way too much) but milk makes my skin break out so oat milk is great and tastes so good even in porridge!

@@emilyswanderland Very jealous of that. I think I enjoy how its incredibly outrageous with the jokes yet somehow accurate to what high school in America can be like. Really love the musicals you listed in your top five too. 😊

I hope you don’t think you leaving a creative writing class means…anything. Someone with your sensitivity is a great story teller. I can think of no great novel or short story that was hatched in a classroom. Unfortunately a teacher with the metronome of a class schedule and grades may teach you the elements of style but isn’t the way a story idea is fostered. Which means everyone has great stories whether they ever uncover and polish them or not. The great stories are simply a manifestation of one’s personal story, including coping with anxieties. I hope you already knew this, but needs to be said in case you had doubts. That said, I’ll put down my metronome and trust you’ll listen when your stories speak.
