Ahh, Groose... I fully expected to hate him-he had those Gaston Vibes, no?-but between Zelda scolding him (and succeeding) and his character arc? Yeah, he completely won me over and possibly has one of the best arcs in the series, really only rivaled by Midna and BotW Zelda. It’s nice to see people change and improve, and okay so he’s not the “Hero”, but he can still defy fate by being heroic and do so by being Clever. (...and he kinda had a point about Link that Zelda basically agreed with-Link was kinda a lazy freeloader with “is it the bird or rider?” and a complete teacher’s pet. Still, messing with your crush’s best friend and bullying other students? Yeah that’s not how it works.)

Another fun detail about Groose's room: if you pay attention, you can notice his and Cawlin and Stritche's are technically one room, separated by this wooden structures that serves as a wall between them (the game hints to this by making it possible to hear whatever is going on in Groose's room from Cawlin and Stritche's, or vice-versa). Notice how Cawlin and Stritche's room, despite being a shared room, is tiny and cramped, and how massive Groose's room is compared to everyone else's in the academy. One can easily deduce that Groose bullied his lackeys into agreeing to move the movable wall and give him the most room. Maybe he's even responsible for them being roommates, as the space of both rooms could have been divided into three.

I think the pared down music in BotW is absolutely critical to making the story and setting what it is! It really rounds out that post apocalyptic setting we’re in 100 years after calamity ganon ravages hyrule. I think the composers have done a really clever job of incorporating elements of previous themes in subtle ways and giving more full bodied scores in the more populated areas and battle themes. Also love the hilarious catch with the bar tab, just the motivation I need to boot up my copy of the game again 😂

I like to think that Dr. Borville set up a tab at the bar that hands out free beer to all the patrons every day. He is such a nice old man, right? Think again! Borville is banking on the fact that inebriated people could potentially get themselves, or someone else for that matter, injured through drunk horse riding, bar fights, alcohol poisoning, falling down some steps because of impaired balance etc. Where would all these injured people go? To Borville's medical clinic of course! According to the World Health Organization: "10-18% of injured patients attending emergency departments are alcohol-related cases". So, rather than being the most powerful character in Twilight Princess, Borville could be the most sinister.

My personal Zelda theory is that all the music and sound effects are diegetic. This is why you have NPCs occasionally imitating sound effects, the Indigo-gos playing historic music, similar locations across games playing similar music, etc. In Breath of the Wild, the fallen state of the kingdom means that it has lost its magic, and thus the music has mostly stopped with only a few random hints and callbacks to historic music except in a handful of especially big scenes.

Idk if you read comments, let alone include them in other videos, but as of late I've noticed not just a reference, but a JoJo's reference in BotW, specifically in Goron City during a side quest involving the player to eliminate an igneous talus. You activate this quest from a goron named Fugo, who must prove his worth to his master by taking on this specific talus, though he chickens out and requests you to go in his stead. Now you could say that it's all just a coincidence and call me 'that' kind of JoJo fan who will kill themselves if they don't make the same five jokes every hour, but it goes deeper. If you talk to his master, you'll learn that his name is also that of a JoJo character, Rohan in specific. What's neat about this is that both of these characters in their franchises are the only ones who got their own mini-series outside the mainline JoJo series, being Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe and Purple Haze Feedback. Why this was referenced, I wouldn't know, but it was neat to find out. Also sorry for rambling on-

As far as music goes in BOTW, Im glad they did how they did. The game has character all its own for it. The only song that feels out of place is the Hinox. its a little too silly for how much fear should be invoking. But otherwise, the nods to old are emotionally striking. Like when you hear ganondorfs organ in hyrule castle or zeldas lullabye peeks out through the orchestra, its makes the whole thing feel like everything is coming together. Those two haunt the backround of the music but the main zelda theme blasts through sometimes. I connect this song most with link. its a subconscious cause thats who youre controlling whenever you heard it before. The lullaby and the forboding organ with that reminds me that when these three meet its always very significant and it almost always happens within the walls of the castle.

Is Robbie from BOTW a descendent of Dr Borville and the Lake Hylia Scientist, He has a similar design. Additionally I believe Gonzo (Wind Waker & Phantom Hourglass) and Alphonso (Spirit Tracks) from the Adult Timeline to be in someway related to Groose, either a descendant or just a character who has very similar character traits and is usually at Link and Zelda's side. On a completely unrelated note, its occurred to me that Impa is only present in the downfall timeline, the only similar character being Telma in Twilight Princess (is there a reason for this)

I think that it would be cool if the second game at the end would have Ganon defeated and then go into a kind of free roam mode where it's like "u have completed the game but u can still play on ur own and do ur own thing." Ya know? Probably not as fun cuz the game is done and over with but u can still continue and still discover things, do any side mission u wanna do that u haven't, stuff like that. It would be a surprising twist

6:04 - this is also the only combat shrine in the game where the guardian scout doesn't reappear.

I’ve been looking in the description for the past 4 videos, I never see any Links in the the description, only some weird blue words.
