As a Chinese, It’s a shame you didn’t receive a good impression of Chinese people before but I hope this trip can change your perceptions of us ❤. I also want to say that a lot of Chinese grew up really really poor (my grandpa for example ate dirt for half a month to fill his belly) so a lot of older Chinese might lack manners due to being born in circumstances where they just couldn’t afford to care, but this is slowly being changed as socioeconomic conditions in China rise, and people are able to afford to be more considerate. I can also say that a lot of the elders in China, despite lacking manners, are some of the most down to earth and kind people you’ll ever meet. A lot of them hold a lot of empathy to people from worser circumstances to them as well, so I hope that this helps understand why Chinese might give off the impression that they lack manners (which I think is definitely improving!)❤❤

It's 2024 now, yet the Western perception of China remains woefully inadequate and rather superficial, as if stuck in a time warp. This is not an isolated issue but a pervasive one. Despite hailing from societies that claim to be free, open, and democratic, is China truly as fearsome as it is depicted in the media and on television? The answer is a resounding no. That portrayal is a distorted image of China, deliberately crafted by the Western ruling elite based on ideological grounds. Take, for example, the surveillance cameras in public urban spaces, which are primarily used for maintaining law and order and monitoring traffic. However, they have been disproportionately amplified to be seen as instruments of mass surveillance. Given the unparalleled scale of China's urban centers, it's a challenge that few can fully comprehend. As of 2020, China boasts 18 cities with populations exceeding 10 million and 91 cities with more than 5 million inhabitants, according to official statistics. Managing such vast metropolises is not a task that can be accomplished by human effort alone; it necessitates the assistance of technological solutions for effective governance. Yet, this reality has been misrepresented by Western media, which has long been used to misinform Western populations. If Westerners have not yet come to a correct understanding of China by now, they risk being left behind in the future by the East.

KZitem has recently pushed to me a number of China travel vlogs by foreign visitors who visited the country the first time. You would notice in almost every video that the vloggers would say they had such a bad impression on China and they still went to see for themselves. Kudos to those "adventurers." Sadly, after watching the videos, one would easily draw the conclusion that how much straight lies, misinformation and distorted presentations their governments, politicians and media had fed them. Not surprising that the US government wants to ban tiktok in the US now. Why? Because they cannot control tik-tok which is providing more balanced information on the world, such as those happening in Gaaaza. Sad but so true!

Here in Hong Kong, we can buy pre-paid data SIM for use in China in say ~US20 for 10-12 GB data and can last for 1 year. The mobile carrier for some how, will not band access to Google, KZitem, Facebook or whatever foreign web sites. For using Google Map (or other foreign GPS apps) you have to notice that GPS locations are offset randomly by 100m to 1km. But still it can give you some indication of directions. Maybe it's just simply daily life for those people so I can't find too many comments or videos from them in KZitem. Good to have you guys travelling and speaking for the real life in Shanghai and China. Shanghai is a good start for the people coming to China in the first time, plenty amount of English speaking people, looking more similar to other big cities in the world. @@shadowdragon349 GOOD NEWS!! With the US retreating into it's shell, THEY will be repatriating the industry they farmed out to China (Attempting to exploit China) Since the US power grid is so antiquated, there's little doubt they will be firing up the coal generation to support that industry. Result? China will divert part of the Solar the US won't be importing to their own system, plus reducing the coal generation as that moves back to the US. Then USA will need a new excuse. . Just BTW If you look up the "CO2 per head capita" data, (The TRUE metric) you'll find China way down the list, Below Germany, somewhere around the UK (Which as a benchmark is converting fast, with only about 1% coal) and producing only about 60% compared to the US.
Welcome to China and see the real China with your own eyes. Chinese people, like people all over the world, love peace, respect and help foreigners. Thank you for your video, because China is so big that even ordinary Chinese people may not have the opportunity to travel to other cities often, and your video also brings us visual shock. Here, you can feel with your heart that China is not a police-ruled authoritarian country as described by the Western world.
