8 HOUR WEAR TEST Kosas BB Burst - I regret to inform you that my skin did look progressively worse throughout the day and descended into chaos. I somehow looked oily and textured and dry at the same time. It bunched up around my nose. It’s the worst my skin has looked with a new base product in….. a long time. I really don’t get it because I was pleasantly surprised right after application, but unfortunately Kosas liquid face products and I just do not seem to get along. I want to give this another try with other skincare and with a more accurate shade match. I think that’s only fair with base products to try using different skin prep. But to be honest, I’m not sure I’ll get around to it because of this first impression. But makeup, *especially* base makeup, is so subjective - so what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. So leave room for that possibility. Glossier Cloud Paint Gel Bronzer - Lovely, long-lasting, easy to use. Like the original Cloud Paints, these set down to a skin-like finish and don’t move around the face. I do like that these are less pigmented because they’re a bit more forgiving. Merit Rouge Flush Balm - This isn’t a new formula to me, so I’m very familiar with these. It’s not the longest-lasting blush because it is a very sheer, natural product. But because Rouge is more richly pigmented, I found it to be longer-lasting than some of the other shades in the range. I really like this. Charlotte Tilbury Queen of Luck - Lasted all day, but my advice is definitely to use a glitter glue or sticky eyeshadow base with these. There are a lot of micro-glitters in these toppers that are beautiful and twinkly, but can drop on the cheeks throughout the day. I actually really like the pink/gold duochrome shade; it’s not earth-shattering but it’s very pretty. Sweed Cloud Mascara - Another Sweed mascara hit. Lashes pretty much stayed exactly as they looked right after application. No smudging. It’s water-resistant but not difficult to move with micellar water/oil cleanser. Still dealing with some lip irritation so I haven’t tested the Lawless lippies yet, but I will soon!

I’m a hater of the kosas packaging too!! It used to be chic and simple and I don’t know why they rebranded to look so tacky 😅😩

Yes! My sense is that they wanted to stand out in a sea of minimal branding. But I liked their older aesthetic better too.

Re: glossier: they were one of the first brands I actually lusted after. I remember seeing their early ads on Instagram and feeling they were super aesthetically pleasing but seemed like everyone in the ads looked so perfect before and after they didn't really showcase the product performance 😂 but once people started reviewing them they seemed exactly what college me wanted: beautiful, effortless, safe bets for sensitive skin and cool. Definitely defined the millenial look. I was very much a makeup minimalist until the pandemic (started experimenting then!) so I hardly had make up staples but boy brow was as close as I came to having one. All of that is to say I was into them! But the out of gloss reveal and the company's response put me off of them for quite some time. I don’t think I've bought anything from them since, still. I still have favorable feelings about many of the products but there are so many companies in that niche now I haven't missed them.

I'm also a light medium neutral for foundations. I do water based items under my kosas stuff or it pills. So I've been going all in for trying the Kosas line up as my summer look and I've actually been loving it. I use Tula 24/7 moisturizer then color correct under eyes with huda beauty cherryblossom faux filtercorrector, then the kosas dreambeam and the revealer foundation in 200, and finally topping with the bb burst 23. I like using damp beauty blender for foundation and bb. Am I doing too much? I dont know I just like doing all this LOL! Then I lightly set with the cloudset in feathery. I consistently get compliments on how beautiful my SKIN looks when I do this. It feels like the ultimate compliment. They don't say that my makeup looks great they say my SKIN looks great! SOOOOOO that is exciting as I've never had that compliment with other makeup. I never get caked up or pilled when I do this line up.

Two things: 1. The Kosas went downhill so quickly I need nausea medication 😂 2. Orchids and chocolate covered strawberries are my faves too! Just thought that was random! 💜

Haha well, some people are saying they loved the Kosas so I think it just goes to show how subjective base makeup can be! Unfortunately just didn’t work on me 😩

I still love the Kosas setting powder and I’ve heard good things about the micro brow pencil but I miss their old liquid eyeshadows era. Love your vids so much Bekah!

Definitely try an SLS free toothpaste! I had similar problems and that was the culprit xx

Or try a children’s formula toothpaste. It is so much gentler. As a rule, brush your teeth before washing your face. You can clean your teeth without using toothpaste at all.

So strange about the kosas, I have dry skin and the BB burst has quickly become one of my favorite base products. Sorry it didn’t work for you!

Kosas has always appealed to me as a brand, but I've had more misses than hits: I liked the concealer formula but the shades in their original range didn’t really work (two concurrent shades were too orange-y warm, then too gray neutral for my golden olive skin), I used two and tried to mix them. But then one went bad, and I found better formulas and shades (the LYS and Kulfi are my favorites). I loved the idea of the tinted oil as someone with dry skin who like light, fast blend bases. It looked awful-textured and dehydrating, transferred like crazy. The wet lip gloss was meh, the tinted lip balm was nice but oddly shaped making it harder to use for no reason. The clear brow gel had zero hold. I got a sample of the foundation and the shades were much better, but again looked chalky on my skin. The powder was nice and lightweight but I like my Range beauty and Ami Colĕ loose powders more. The original bronzer range was super red toned. Whenever they release something I'm still intrigued because I always like the niche they're going for. The descriptions get me. Then I remember my track record with them and talk myself down. Still curious about their brow pencil and lipsticks that are quite popular, but not checking for any more base products from them.

Also golden olive and had the same problem with the foundation looking chalky and gray in the closest match olive shade (270), also tried 260 and 290 which were both toooo neutral 🤦🏽♀️

What are your favorite foundations and matches? My perfect shade match is Charlotte Tilbury 8 neutral for olive undertones! I also love Glossier Stretch fluid foundation in medium Tan 1 for olive undertones (great undertones but that one is a bit dark for me, I still make it work though!)

Re glossier, I used to adore the company and probably will always use futuredew and the perfume You, but tbh I’m kinda hacked off that a) they won’t open a store here in Scotland and b) they offer NO membership / points system or anything that would make people loyal to the brand. It just feels like they’ve stopped trying, which is disappointing.

I think it’s funny that they’re rereleasing the bronzers with no nod to the first bronzers they released. I get why, cause those were awful, but you can’t just pretend they don’t exist glossier!

I won’t buy something that isn’t made to last a long time. I own too many foundation type products and there is no way I can use something with such a short shelf life in under a year. The CT palette is beyond you.

I was most excited to see the lawless portion. I don't see many people talking about this brand and love those lip glosses! I am not a fan of the tinted lip balms, they are pretty matte. I love the nudie shade in the new lipgloss colour. Please try them on in a later video and show us the swatches if you can!

Is the glossier bronzer better than charlotte tilbury bronzer? Thank you😊
@Bekah_Sun
7 ай бұрын
Hmm, that's tough to say because they're such different products! I think the Glossier bronzer takes a bit more work to apply simply because it's a liquid, so you need to apply on the back of your hand first. It's a bit more natural looking and sheerer than the Charlotte Tilbury bronzer. I would reach for the Charlotte Tilbury bronzer on a more makeup-y day. really like both, but I think it depends on your preferences.
