I write slowly and I read slowly. In the past I thought it was wrong, I even wanted to learn speed reading, but I quit ... Today I know I did the right. I like to think, I want to have time for this, I don't have to rush.

You know, I often think that we do so many things to save ourselves time but then...what do we actually end up doing with this time that we've saved? You're right - we don't have to rush everything. There are things that we can do faster but only so that we can take time doing other things.

I wish we knew more about neurology. Maybe there is some connection there with how the brain processes information. In a hundred years they’ll probably figure out exactly what it is

Thank you for making this video, as a high school student, I sometimes feel like I was inferior or not deserving of good marks compared to the other students in my mind. I hated how I felt like I was more of a burden than a hard-working student. But now, I feel a bit better in myself, I write slow yes, but i make sure to do the best job I possibly can, and i get good grades because of that. Thanks, Azlan

This is so relatable! It’s something I am working on at the moment, as I find my perfectionist syndrome slows me down too much.

Thank you ❤️ Today it took me 8 hours to write a one page script for a KZitem video and I've been feeling awful about it. While I realize that pace is not sustainable, and that I do need to write faster, having a better mindset about it is so important.

I'm a slow writer, too, and I relate to your experience feeling insecure and unsatisfied about it 😓 I've already given up on learning to write faster, and nowadays I just strive to write consistently. It's still hard. I don't like Medium as a platform, but the format of having your own space where you dictate your tempo appeals me - that is, having a blog. I have my *personal blog* on *Dreamwidth,* and it does wonders for me, too! Now, for me, "writing consistently" means writing with medium-high frequency, even if I don't write many words per session. Bit by bit, someday I'll finish my projects! Thank you for this beautiful message, Anita. I felt hugged tight 🫂💝

I needed to hear this. Yesterday I was really hard on myself about taking hours to complete an article. I didn't procrastinate, but as always, took hours and hours researching, writing, editing..

Hey again Mariza! It's important that you're aware of the chat that goes on in your head as, then, you can decide what to do about it. Are you happy with the article that you wrote?

Thanks for sharing. You are getting better and better with every new video and article. I can see you are getting better in sharing your thoughts on your videos. It feels so professional 🤗 I am not sure if the background on your video is your new setup or not but it looks beautiful 💕 Keeps on the good work. Its okey to run at your own pace and its okay to start over. Don’t let people confine you with their timelines of success.

Umaaaar! I always smile when I see a comment from you. Oh, and what a bundle of compliments I get from again. I'm a sucker for editing-related compliments as this is something I try to improve on and it still requires a lot of work. So THANK YOU for recognising that 🤗"Don't let people confine you with their timelines of success." - this touched my heart. Thank you x

George, I'm sooo happy to hear this. I made this video hoping that it would help someone, even one person, out there look at their writing in a different way and tune down the feeling of guilt or inadequacy. I feel honoured to be able to take part in this experience. I hope you enjoy blogging and hope to see you here again 🙌

This is definitely a relatable topic! There have been times that I got frustrated because I came across writers online that preached that same rule of writing everyday. I would see them preparing multiple posts in one day and I found myself thinking "Man, how are they able to do that? Why am I struggling to just write one piece?" Since I want to start a blog one day, I sometimes find myself thinking about this because I've heard of the importance of staying active. But like you said in the video, everyone's different and we should be happy with the fact that we're still writing. I've been dealing with on and off case of writer's block. So, when I'm able to complete a piece of writing I've been working on or I'm able to get a few words down, that's a victory! It's something that I have to keep reminding myself of. It's so easy to get wrapped up in these writing rules..while it's good to challenge yourself, we shouldn't try to race with someone else. This is a topic that isn't talked about a lot so I thank you for touching on it!

Hiii and welcome here! I totally agree with you on the fact that every single word you put down is an achievement, sitting down to write and facing a blank page is a step forward and completing a piece of writing, regardless of how long it's talen to produce, is a victory. I'm glad you enjoyed this topic 🙌

This... all of this! I've, also, dreamed of having a blog, before, and I got around setting it up and publishing it last year. It's rewarding and fun, but also hard because I'm a slow writer and even though I don't even have readers there, I feel awful opening it up and seeing the last post published was months ago... But it is what it is. With time, I'll develop techniques and mindsets that'll help me get satisfied, even if I don't ever figure out how to writer more and faster. I hope you do so, too 🫂💝

@@ngtskynebula Hi @ngtskynebula ! I hope all is well. That's great you were able to get your blog set up and you're enjoying it! I've heard that one of the hardest steps in running a blog is actually starting it, and you overcame that obstacle! I haven't set up one yet since I posted this comment. Life has definitely been getting in the way. Hopefully, it's something I can pursue in the future. Good to know there are other slow writers out there! It's still a subject that should be talked about more. I commend you for writing blog posts as you wait for your readers! It takes time to build up a following, so continue to be patient and keep sharing your writing! Don't get discouraged! Any amount of writing is a victory no matter what anyone says. I find it helpful to set small goals for myself (such as 100 words), and I usually get out a little more than expected. Also, it doesn't have to be every day that you write. It could be once a week, three times a week, whatever works for your schedule. Also, thank you for the well wishes! Much appreciated! Not sure when I'll ever get a blog started....but I'm still trying to work on other projects whenever I can. Take care and I'm glad my comment resonated with you! Keep writing!
