The time of filming was shortly after Easter. Comment below if you want me to highlight specific fruiting plants this season.

Ready for the figs! Wish I could grow strawberries without all the pests issues we have in the south

Have you tried Alpine strawberries? Almost nothing bothers them if you grow the white varieties.

Hey Ross! Would you mind making a video about your favorite varieties of each fruit? I saw your video about toka plum and decided to graft one out of curiosity. I am also trying to get my hands on a pink pearl apple. Until recently, I had no idea that varieties like these existed. It'd be great to get some recommended varieties from someone who has experimented with many different varieties. Love the videos by the way!

I hate fire blight so much dude, I keep cutting off branches on some of my Asian pears. This year I'm spraying Ferti-Lome fire blight spray every three days. I really hope it works.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried growing only fireblight resistant varieties?

Ross, i can tell you i definitely lost some gooseberries this year which was pretty odd. All of my gooseberries and currants made it through winter except one of the hinnomaki varieties. I cant remember if it was the gold or red, but both bushes of the same variety died. Zone 6 central ohio so a bit colder than you, but normally should be no problem for ribes. Im not sure what happened, but if that gooseberry didnt leaf out, it might be donezo. -- maggie

And as far as currents go, i love the pink champagne currant best out of all colors. the clove currant is my favorite of the black varieties ive tried -- definitely juicier and more flavorful.

My hinnomaki red died this winter as well. Not from cold. I suspect it was the drought from last year combined with the high caterpillar pressure.

@@RossRaddi hmm not sure. My gooseberries/currants are all planted in one area. I have somewhere over 10 varieties. Strange that hinnomaki died for both of us and in different locations.

Hey Ross did you hand pollinate your apricot trees?
@RossRaddi

No. There's not a ton of activity when they flower yet every year they're pollinated.

Remove all your grass and you will have plenty more room for trees etc.
