Believing in God does nothing for you, but believing God makes the whole difference. Abel believed God and offered a blood sacrifice, Cain did not and offered a bloodless sacrifice. God said the soul that sins must die. One who believes God believes in His way of salvation. The animal blood sacrifice pointed to a substitute, the sinless lamb of God -- Jesus Christ -- who took the punishment each of us deserves. James 2:9 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! P.S God created man in his image, man has a soul capable of communicating with the Creator of the universe. Because we do not know who is destined to salvation and eternal life, we must see all men and women the way God sees them and put the same value on them as God does. A human being is priceless, all the gold of the universe cannot save him or her, God the Father did not spare His Son -- Jesus Christ -- (of whom it s said that all things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made) in order to save whoever wants.

Not at all. We are creators but we aren't the creator. Consciousness and recognition of the universe are part of awareness. God being the beginning and ending of it all. Made in his image to create life and allow him to share in his glory for all he has done and will do and is capable of doing. We have the unique ability to be able to worship and give praise to our creator. Creatures other than man have no appreciation of the creator. God gave birth to the seas and all things that part them and all things that inhabit those. Having seen it was all good, and naturally wanting to share in the beauty of his creation, he created man in his image. We know from scripture God is a creator as that is what Genesis is all about. His likeness. So he created man and from man woman. Woman created from man as male headship is obvious in life and as appreciation that woman is his equal as she is part of him and they are from God. They together in union are whole and together they can CREATE life as God intended so as to give man rule over that which he created to continue to share in the glory of all that God created. It is very beautiful to know that all of this is by design from what God hath made.....and it is good. Trust in him and walk in love.

Here's an argument for the inherent value of individual humans: Societies that value the inherent rights of humans have better overall quality of life for all their humans. And beyond that, as people prosper, they have the resources and capacity to clean up after themselves and help the ecosystem. So this system of values *demonstrably works.* And treat it like a video game: if you do something in a video game, and you are rewarded for it, then it's right to think that you are doing what the game intends for you to do. When something *works,* that's a signal that you're on track to discover the meaning of the system you're in.

There is a line from the movie Fallen where John Goodman tells Denzel Washington: "Hobbs, I'm following ya but your losing me at the same time." I get it, you like to go off on these stream of consciousness rants where you juggle numerous concepts and then attempt to connect the dots but as to the question, do you believe in God, well, you left that unanswered. It sounds like you still see God as a construct. On the one hand you dismiss the concept of intrinsic value and a Divine spark, but then you go on to say we need to believe it is real in order to reach some sort of balance? And that bit at the end? That rambling about how you admire religious teaching because somehow it lines up with psychoanalytical reasoning and supports the idea that we are not unitary spirts but instead we are a loose unity of of a multiplicity of spirits? Okay, maybe you never did directly answer the question of whether or not you believe in God, but that interpretation of Biblical messaging indicates a level of confusion, at least about Judeo/Christian teaching. Maybe it's just that you are incapable of cutting the cord, that all those years of being an agnostic psychologist makes you incapable of entering into a relationship with God. I'm not talking about believing in Him, even the demons do that, I'm talking about a personal relationship, genuine faith. I know, you have made a lot of videos about the wisdom contained in the Bible, but even Dawkins admits the values put forward by that book are good for society. This is why I'm concerned that a lot of young people turn to people like you for spiritual guidance. I hope one day you can surrender to Christ. But I wish that for everyone. Good luck Dr. Peterson.

Faith boggles the high powered educated minds because it does not stem from any proof, it’s a calling, it’s a profound knowing. Of course as humans we will often waiver in faith but I think a healthy reexamination of your beliefs is good. I often reorient my mind to the world because faith , specifically the type called for by Christ Jesus, takes a separation of oneself from the world. So as someone trying to operate in the world without falling to its trappings and ways of operating I think it’s good to question myself, not to tempt or doubt but to assure myself of the answers to these question, “Am I fool? Am I speaking to air? What does this faith do for my life?”… my answers are always “yes I may be a fool, yes I may be talking to air but in my heart , mind, and soul I believe he is there and I have seen his hand in my life”. I love God, and he loves me, I know because he sent his Son Christ Jesus to save me and all my fellow human beings from our own wickedness.

The problem with god is language, semantics and terminology. In daoism Qi is the life force or the way. I think God/gods can only be interpreted by the individual. We have many words for things that don’t exist, like “nothing”, we can’t understand “nothing” like we can’t conceptualise infinity. We have words for the unexplainable with our so called advance knowledge. Maybe there’s gods of the past or gods to manifest in the future. By attaining knowledge we, as a human race, acquire super powers, in regards to the ignorance of the past. Our unquenchable thirst for knowledge has its negatives. The benefits of mystery and wonder are reduced. Skepticism says 100% of knowledge is unattainable. Maybe our goal is to create a black hole where all knowledge, information and memory is consumed.

Imagine that, then while inside yourself say no, and while you think of how factually there is something outside of everything that is a creator... take that almost ball of selfish borderline frightening ego and while thinking it belongs to that outside of you raise that ball inside yourself straight up out your body out the top of your head towards the universe. That's your self enlightenment or conciousness recognizing where you come from. Like how a preist performs an exorcist being a conduit.l if God's will. You cant say the preist is using gods power, commanding it, or weilding it. If God is all powerful it would require God not even letting you cuz we are like a bug. You cant hand your pistol to an ant and tell it to take out a beetle. An ant can hold still while you hold your pistol in front of it n blow a beetle away though. All knowing, all forgiving, and all powerful. We are made in his image so we are never as strong ourselves but forever strive to be. Like American patriots do with forefathers. Surfs and peasants with kings and queens. It will be very interesting if you or just the process itself can be documented of me healing. The shift from one type of person to another is pretty drastic its throrough and genuine but the morality manipulation from the forced drugging was unique. Something that should be considered and maybe made especially professional knowledge. Wild ride, huh? Don't worry ik much better than to poison others families or to ever hurt angels. He philosophizes far too much about a matter of far bigger import than intelligence can crack - he is chasing his tail forever… His mind is his worst enemy. He needs to believe first with all his childish heart - like an artist - like a poet - go out on the limb with gusto and bravery - and then with HEART and instinct he may finally wake up to the Truth that his silly human intelligence can only dance around so clumsily.

If he has not yet come to a total personal understanding, is he not better to wait until he has total conviction rather than be lukewarm? Or it is possible that he has made his choice, but it is a private thing for him - Jesus condemned those who prayed in public to be revered by men stating they should do it in private. The U.S. Constitution does not mention God, but we have our rights simply because we have the concept of freedom and self-determination contained only by the rule of laws that we the people agree to be the rules for our society as citizens of our nation. There is no proof of any supernatural cause, and it's been thoroughly examined. Human beings aren't "Born in sin." There is no proof of this, but in fact, much biological evidence that we merely have a set of instincts, as all life possesses, just more developed. Undersanding this, we see that there is no need to be "saved." Dignity and right living were always a subject of discussion among the ancient philosophers. I am amazed that Dr. Peterson would reject the idea that a human being or any living thing has value in itself and that it must be imbued by a "god" that cannot be proved to exist, using a much more ridiculous and contradictory circular argument. The attitude that humans only have value if they believe in God and get their value by that alone, is a setup for the justification of murder and self-righteous oppression of others.

I hope you abandon this foolish atheist axe you are desperately grinding, and your pride subsides to allow you to see the truth. The concept is not that humans have value merely because they believe in God, but because our being in itself as through God has given us that value. Why are you bothered about "rights", or murder or opression, without God? Why do you think you have a right to anything? Why is murder and oppression bad?
