I have the Toolcheck plus permanently "installed" in my work backpack - it's a perfect fit for the rear pocket. I used to have a couple of smaller, separate tools with me, but I prefer the Wera for the practicality of everything in one place I guess. Of course I could "Frankenstein" a toolset and 3D print a holder/case, but 1: I'm too lazy to bother and 2: After experiencing Wera support I'm "sold"... to elaborate: I originally bought the Toolcheck (not "Plus", so without the screwdriver handle), but accidentally dropped it and broke the ratchet retainer. I contacted support asking if it was possible to buy the retainer, or the complete holder. They sent me a new holder for free... *and* the Plus version holder. Sneaky buggers! 😅 Of course I had to go buy the missing handle... not regretting that though - I bought the Toolcheck before the "plus" version came out, so getting upgraded to the plus version for the price of the handle was a good deal. All that said though, I do like the idea of the double-ended Klein/Vaco sockets, but I would need a much shorter adapter - also, needing special adapters irks me a bit. Same with double-ended bits, needing special adapters is a negative for me.

Sweet. Didnt realize fhe Vaco had the metric version. Love the Klein double sided sockets. You gotta take this all the way and find the perfect case. Like a long altoids tin or glasses case that pockets like a dream.

ROFL!! I literally was thinking of trying to find another case and I don't know what to choose ROFL. This shrinks sizes by a lot!

To use the double sided sockets and the required extension adapter with the ratchet you lose the ability to get into tight spaces. The Wera has come in handy so many times for this purpose. I also think the organized cluster of the Wera easily justifies the slightly heavier and larger footprint. It’s not a large kit to begin with so the compromises are unnecessary imo.

They 'just' added the Klein version about 2 months ago. But functionally they are the same.

It's nice to have a compact set up but I think you don't cover tight spaces. I do have a double socket set and I have a shorter extension. However unlike the Vaco I can't use my bars to store the sockets.

I dont'get the love for the ToolCheck Plus at all. Replace all those sockets with something like a Knipex Pliers Wrench* [which will also take care of in-between sizes. And add one of the Leatherman* multitools with a bit-holder-and you've got all the ToolCheck PLus offers and then some. In a much smaller form factor. [* other brands of multitools and pliers wrenches are available]

I'd argue the Leatherman with a bitholder is more of an annoyance and isn't good as a screwdriver or as a plier. It's very awkward to use and clunky. Leatherman bits also kinda suck as they marr really easily and if one bit goes down, the entire set is kind of compromised whereas you can get the bits you want.

@@Dracomies You're right about the Leatherman bits being useless. There are other multitools which take standard bits and would be a better bet. But I don't own any, so amn't familiar with which brands are out there. Also agree the Leatherman pliers are fairly useless. But still handy to have as a second pair for holding things, while you use a decent set like the Knipex for the actual grunt work.

There's two I know that take Wiha doublesided bits. (1) Steinwhale www.amazon.com/Steinwhale-Screwdriver-Biodegradable-Cellulose-Double-headed/dp/B0CJQWS9J1/ref=sr_1_5_pp? (2) Centrofix (better at holding the bits) www.wihatools.com/products/centrofix-1-4-inch-quick-release-bit-holder.
