You know a channel is good when you can go back to videos from 4 months ago and not know if the channel has 2 million or 250k subs, and then you look at the subscriber count. Huge congrats on 100k do not know if I have said it yet, that 100k vid was awesome. Did you check the power draw during the test that had the bigger difference? Checking power settings in the BIOS might be worth a look. The 9 might be set to draw more power.
@averellberlin1880

Sottr difference might be because of the ram difference. Giving more ram to gpu without affecting the cpu. But also amd cpu will run dynamically so it would be better to run the benchmarks many times and compare average as some stuff might happen in the background on windows that could affect the benchmark results. Overall I agree the Ryzen 9 does not seem worth it, just slap more ram to the Ryzen 7 version and call it a day. Good video

I am guessing that integrated GPUs share a lot of the resources and thermals with the CPU, so if the CPU is having trouble, it might affect an APU more than it would a separate GPU, specially when using an eGPU the CPU's thermals won't affect it at all.

The one gaming scenario where you might expect the CPU to make more difference is emulation. Since they are both fairly powerful processors, though, either one should emulate a lot of things well.

9:14 the early days of using this game for a benchmark on most channels was actually a cpu bound title more than not, also traditionally it was optimized more for intel (which shouldn't matter in this case, but worth notation). It wasn't specifically because of the graphics, it was something about the in-game physics and how the game calculated light shafts. (its been a while since it was current, so grain of salt)

I'm just looking for a batocera machine to play ps2 and gamecube. (Maybe upscale? But not necessary) is it worth splurging on this (r7) or would I get the functionality I need out of an n97 or otherwise cheaper option?

If all you want to do is play batocera on it then there are a lot of cheaper options out there for sure... Hell, you can get a raspberry pi 5 kit for about $130 and run batocera off it just fine...I have a ser4 mini PC and I can easily run batocera on it and that mini PC is about 5 yrs old now...they are up to ser8 now.

@@mjust7119 you can run just about any mini pc with an hdmi out to any modern tv; not sure why you would need to unplug it if all you're doing is playing games off of it.... as for the controllers. i don't know which one you have but maybe upgrade to a better controller. i use my xbox controller on my pc and i just have to turn it on and it's paired in less than 2 seconds... or if that is still a hassle then buy a wired controller.

I'm not paid for this recommendation.. i just think you'll enjoy it. There's an android game called Guardian Tales, it's like an old school Zelda game. It does have Gatcha elements, but you won't need to buy Dimonds to pull characters. You can gain enough thriugh log in and daily grinds. I've donecso for 4 years and can do dailies in about 10 minutes. Aside from that, It's the actual storyline game that i think you'll enjoy. It's an underappreciated game. Almost won game of the year, it lost out to SpongeBob. They had no hard feels... as one of the characters kickercthe sht out of SpongeBob.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is known to be a more CPU Intensive game. I don't know why, but it's consistent and that's why the CPU-strong team always chooses Shadow of the Tomb Raider as their benchmark in LTT's scrapyard wars

Something I want to do with one of these mini PCs is leave one NVME with Windows 11, but put Linux on the second NVME slot and go between the two OS. I read that either OS can read files, videos, and games on the opposite HDD, but haven't test it. Is that possible? Like, I would have the Linux one be the daily driver, but hop over to Windows 11 for programs still bound to that OS.

For the price of any of these 2 mini PC's i would opt for one with a 780m igpu and an oculink port... Granted there aren't a lot with oculink just yet but they're becoming more and more prominent these days... especially as more manufacturers are coming out with their own external gpu...(Mind you, that you can make your own egpu dock for a lot less but it won't be as pretty).

maybe shadow of the tomb raider benefited by the RAM being more on the ryzen 9? although 16gb should be plenty, but... if the power draw was set correctly, the game was able to utilize the same amount of ram for vram and things like that, then the only thing that comes to mind is that it needed more ram for some reason... or maybe windows was doing some shit on the back?
@lexlopez15
2 күн бұрын
16gb may be the minimum but it isn't ideal. I'm currently playing spiderman remastered on my ser4 mini PC with 16gb of ram and that game almost maxed it out with the CPU running at 90%. it crashes every now and then so I'd say if you plan on playing big graphic intensive games like tomb raider then consider adding 32gb of ram.

Probably the differences on integrated graphics are tied to Ram. Integrated Graphics rely on the system Ram as a substitute for Vram, so the faster the ram generally the better the performance. So dunno if fiddling with the bios and testing video ram allocation or different clock profiles for the ram would actually aleviate the bottleneck. Mini PCs tend to have very random perfomance at times also, some may not be as efficient with their power draw or ram configs and usually need several bios revisions before they become a bit more stable.

Really? There are hundreds of videos with pinball fx running on mini PC's...if not mini PC's then on laptops with the exact same chip...anyhow, I can tell you I have a beelink ser4 mini PC with a ryzen 7 4800u chip and it runs pinball fx just fine...as such, these 2 mini PC's shown here blows mine out of the water so I'd venture to say they could run any pinball games better than mine.
