Jess - even the manufacturers say you can do it on the glass top stove - I do with my Presto all the time - check with yours first. You just shouldn't use the larger AA's with them. But Presto works fine on most newer ones (which you have), but double check with your manufacturer first, not the internet - times have changed and stove makers are doing better.
@tabitharender580

I did last year with a presto without issue. I’m actually going to try to do it outside this year to decrease on the heat at in my kitchen! My husband pointed out that we have a burner on our grill that we never use so I’m going to go for!
@hodgsonhome4243

I use my medium size AA on my glass top all the time. (Fits 7 quart jars) It's the same height as my water bath pot. And the pressure canner is not full of water (like a water bath pot) so actually less weight on the glass top at a time. I don't feel confidant doing a bunch of big pots at the same time full of water on the glass top. But my pressure canner is fine. I have other friends that did this for years too on older glass top stoves than mine. Tried pressure canning on my deck with propane burner but was way too hot and hard to regulate (plus it's hot & humid in the Ozarks and canning in heat is no fun). I'm literally canning 7 quarts of beef broth on my glass top in my AA pressure canner right this second!

That is sooo true. Watching this brings back many memories for me of standing at the stove with my then 5 year old son. He was always so happy to be in the kitchen beside me back then. At the time I just thought I was helping him stay occupied while I cooked dinner for us. I never thought that in 25 years I would be rewarded by him coming home to visit and making amazing meals for our family. His butter chicken and naan bread is to die for. And I love the pictures he sends me when he makes sourdough bread. I've never baked a loaf of bread at home. So, the seeds planted at that stove really grew in ways I never even imagined. My youngest writes music and plays piano by ear now. It makes me smile every time I think of the banging on keys he was allowed to do at three years old.

What kind of canner do you have? I have heard that many of them can handle a Presto but, not an All American. (And many have said to call the stove manufacturer to verify.) I keep researching because I have both and a gas stove but, it would be really nice to get this heat out of my kitchen, lol.

When I was a child, there weren't air conditioners. To keep the house from getting hot, Dad would stack cinder blocks outside, put an oven wrack over them and build a fire underneath. Mom would can lots of things out there. She canned green beans which took about 3 hours in a boiling water bath. Once we had a flood and there was no electricity at all so all meals were cooked on the same setup. Good memories. I love your vlog.
