Thanks for posting this. I live in Las Vegas. I knew about the winery in Pahrumph, but not the rum, or the mead, or the second winery; I will have to take a trip there in the next few weeks. I remember driving with my dad over Wheeler Pass in about 1971 in our '64 Chevy ¾ ton pickup. The beehive ovens were intact back then. Every few years I go on that route. I don't recall exactly when they were destroyed. As you said though, there are beehive ovens all over Nevada; some of them are undisturbed. See you on the trails.

You were in my stomping grounds on this one. Wheeler Pass is beautiful, and if you came down the Vegas side you passed my work just before the freeway. Rocky Gap, just off Lovell Canyon, is a nice run with rock garden that earns a Jeep Badge. Carpenter Canyon also has a nice little stream to wheel up with some picnic areas and shade at the top the next time you come back this way. Stonewise is a great Meadery too, they do session meads mostly which is typically lower ABV than your typical Meade. But they do have special brews they sell from time to time. If you ever need a local tour, let me know, would love to wheel some with you and yours.

LOL - can't believe you haven't read through the comments. That said, you really should take some time to educate yourself about things you clearly know nothing about before chiming in like a self-rightous Karen. That way, you can taste more samples without getting drunk. 🙄

It is a big part of why I never do.

It's not just the youth, it's people in general and from what I've seen, a big thanks to social media. We know this stupidness happens because they post up about it.
