Right from the beginning, I’m hooked! What an opening, being so real with putting competitiveness on the back burner due to family responsibilities. I was a very competitive, collegiate athlete, and also put my competitiveness on the back burner due to marriage, 3 children, career, etc. Children are 11, 8, and 5. Starting to free up and see some time opening up to resume competition. In the meantime I’m doing some very slow endurance and base building to set the foundation for when I start getting serious again. Great stuff!

Can’t even tell you how many times my Garmin has given me a negative performance condition 1/2 mile on my run, yet I feel great and end up crushing my run and recovering great etc. I find the data from wearables interesting, but certainly don’t let the data dictate what I’m doing at any moment in time. Trends over time and feel as a combo is a helpful approach

Could listen to Gordo opine about endurance sports all day. I remember him blazing past me in an Olympic Distance in Lake Havasu in 2007.

This is amazing. This interview is so insightful, sophisticated and very digestible. I am more informed and feel much richer because of the work you do. Keep up the amazing work.

Triathletes are awesome but we can't all get on with the bike. Could a Skierg be used instead of the bike to develop the running fitness?
