Great review! I love Timex too, I do think this is priced a little bit high, they are definitely leveraging their brand history with that asking price. I think you were spot on, for that price it would be nice to have a sapphire crystal on the dial. I’ve heard about the noisy rotor from other videos, I have some pagani design watches that have Chinese auto in them with noisy rotors that are noticeable, but not a deal breaker for me. Loved the photography in the video!!

Thank you for the kind words, I think you're right about that brand history. My pet hate is a noisy watch, its the same with my Timex Expedition Scout, such a loud tick.

@@thebaldwatchcollector lol the loud tick is assurance that the watch is working, has to be intentional?!!! 😆😆😆

Hey Troy, New subscriber, and new to watches, which means I don’t know much. I do have a question though, I noticed when you were talking about the crown and how to pull it out to fix the date and time… I didn’t see you wind the watch, is that because you don’t need to wind it since it’s an automatic? I thought even as an automatic you need to wind it a bit? And if you do, can you please explain how to do so. Do you need to pull the crown to wind? Or simply just wind it?

I actually just bought one with a leather strap and I'm excited to wear it to a wedding or something. IMO the only garish watches not based on appearance but based on expense, and this one's priced perfectly.
@thebaldwatchcollector

It can also be picked up in some of the online sale's that helps. Like you I prefer a leather strap option and that is what I had it on.

In my opinion, Timex is still value for money, as the rest of the market have also increased their prices. Love these retro styles at a size that doesn't make you look like a clown. Vid was perfect too, thank you.

I’m cheering for Timex to have an automatic movement revival, but I feel the value may not be there and think that we KNOW them for reliable, budget friendly quartz pieces. This piece looks nice, and wouldn’t be the same without the display caseback...have to showcase what makes it different from 99.9% of the other quartz watches in existence. Great review!

From the outside its very close to their quartz Waterbury's in looks. So having automatic on the dial really helps. They have such a great heritage to them and in the last year their automatics have been some of the most stylishly designed, but maybe lacking in specs. Thanks as always Witt for the support

Proper pro job on this vid! I watched an interesting vid on Timex of why you should never go vintage on their mechanicals. Essentially close to impossible to service the movement because it’s so trash (the watch cost $10 at the time to be fair though). I love Timex anyway

Thank you mate, I've never really looked into vintage Timex's worth noting thank you, I do however have my eye on the California dial and it's currently in the sale.

@@AbhiramsaiAveti If you are going for an orient, good luck because in India, it will cost 12K least. What you are getting with this classic elegant dress watch is a 21jewls miyota japanese movement, meaning it's automatic. However, at $120 mark this is only affordable automatic you can have in India atleast, or the Timex marlin which again goes out of stock quick. I bought this and I am really happy that as a dress watch I get compliments from both, gents or ladies.

I’m not an enthusiast or an expert, to myself just another modern day watch, I have a much better 1990’s 36mm black lacquered Weekender, it’s more stunningly attractive in black and white, much better than the modern Weekenders, must admit to never owning a new/old Waterbury, if only it could have resembled a 1990’s Weekender.
