Came back to watch this again....nostalgia is the word that comes to mind as I grew up in the Wirral where coal trains and passenger traffic with 2-6-2s were the normin the 50s,,,

As you rightly say these dioramas are pure escapism from modern life and very atmospheric, I particularly like the way you added grass and vegetation among the tracks adding to the realism, I admire you guys and the patience it must take… thank you for sharing

I love the atmosphere of these types of Diorama, a snapshot of bygone days that sometimes I wish we had back… the tunnel in the first one gives a feeling of depth and imagination not knowing what’s at the end… very good work and detailing 👍🏻

What beautiful layouts! They will inspire and encourage people who don’t have much space to still go ahead and create a layout. The back-scene photos help to give the illusion of a lot more room than there actually is.

Stunning. I love the sense of depth created using the photographic backscene on sticky backed plastic. Sticky backed plastic and Fairy Liquid bottles, those were the days. Love the tongue in cheek humour. No doubt you listen to Radio 4 at 18.30 for the News Quiz or I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. Mrs Trellis of North Wales will be pleased. The Friary van is nice local touch. Unlike the awful Friary Centre, that replaced the brewery, with it's depressing bus station to the rear. It really is begging to be demolished.

Very nice Chris. Love the touch of the Ivo Peter's car on the first layout. We have a Grandson with that name, and he had his first ride, on the S&D, behind steam, eight years ago, when he was less than 3 weeks old. How, you may ask? Well I'm a volunteer on the Gartell Light Railway, so it wasn't difficult!

What a lovely collection Chris. Ours is still in the planning stage and having measured the car! measured the Summerhouse! and the time to build! Are ready to start! Keep it simple said, Maggie and Gordan, as I extracted our gatecrashing Daughter who went missing during a visit to Pendon. We later went on a morning of fun with her which was enjoyed by all. Many layouts are too serious so the odd visit to see the Madder Valley run is superb. Just up the line from us in Reading! Best regards. David Lily and Katie (10)
