Those jumps are quite big for the amount of speed you can get off the drop in. I wish each jump was 3 feet shorter. The first 2 jumps are tough to clear. Then jumps 3 and 4 have the shortest steepest lips, almost bmx like.

Yeah, they seem a little tricky. I need to spend a little time out there and try to figure them out.

You have to pedal from the drop in to the bottom of jump #1. If you clear it clean you can carry the next three without pedaling. My favorite part in all of Cuyuna!

I often get caught on the same loops when I go up there. I gotta venture out more now that they've adjusted the trail linkups. I haven't been on Mucker Mountain or Roly Poly for a long while. I don't think I've ever ridden The Chute. That looks SUPER fun. Also, I'd session those big skills area jumps with you. I haven't done the drop yet, but I'm not worried about it. I wanna figure out those jumps! They're big and spooky, but tantalizing.

Can not recommend having Trailforks on your phone enough for Cuyuna. The Crew keeps it updated with any trail changes. Also, Trailforks has routes. There are currently 17 routes created by locals on Trailforks. Tom Selleck Stole My Mom and Gluttons for Punishment are the "do everything" routes.

Back in the late 90s (before the bike trails) I was camping at these mine pit lakes and took a walk into the woods. There was a bit of a clearing ahead that was up on a mini plateau next to a steep rocky hill. As soon as I stepped up where my eyes were above the floor of the "plateau" I saw it. First the tail, as my approach roused it from a nap. It rose, turned from me and soundlessly and effortlessly scampered up the steep, rocky hill and out of sight. I only saw it for 3 seconds but I know what I saw. I saw a mountain lion.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. It's definitely worth a trip. I like spring and fall the best but pretty much anytime is a good time to go. That corner at 9:20 gets me every time! The Yawkey unit has a lot more of the tech stuff. I might suggest driving over to the HW6 trailhead for that section. It's a few miles of green XC to get there. I'm probably going to be heading there in the next couple weeks. My wrist is finally feeling almost healed and I'll start traveling around again.
@KrisYahner

Yeah, that tree comes up quick! I love Yawkey unit. We pedaled over on the day I filmed this but only had time for a run down Bobsled. There was construction at HWY 6 and had the road pretty well torn up when we were there. Have you ever ridden the unit over by Riverton? Glad to hear the wrist is better. Those types of injuries seem to take forever to heal.
