I'm so glad they preserved this as a museum to remember the series. Even though most of the interiors were done in sound stages.

I've been there 3 times and every time I'm so excited! Best thing about visiting Southfork is that you always get surprised how big the ranch are! The views are fenomenal! Then there are something extra to walk around the house and sit down by the pool and remember that this is the place where J.R and Sue Ellen, Jock, Miss Ellie, Lucy,Bobby and the bitch Pamela had their family dinner and all the fights between J.R and Bobby and the scene who are shown in this video when Kristin was found dead in the swimmingpool. So many great memories of one of the best series ever made! I wish they never had cancelled the series.... Bring Dallas back!!

They never filmed inside this house on the show. The inside of SF with the winding stairs, etc was modeled after a home in the Highland Park area of DALLAS. The set we saw was MUCH bigger than this house, it never would have fit, lol

i mentioned that to the tourguide on my visit this past Jan, she said many fans say that. TNT execs painted white for some reason. Could repaint it in a day, but on the tour, noticed several things that needed sprucing up, etc. That is also the original fencing, from the early 70's, same with the fencing in the front.

Great tour and the home looks just as regal as it did in the original, but why did it look so plain and somber during the TNT reboot!? Never understood why TNT downplayed the homes interior and made it look so ordinary...

I was there in the Summer of 2016, and my mother and I arrived at 10 in the morning, then left about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I was amazed on that day not many people had shown up to visit the South Fork Ranch. But I enjoyed walking around the ranch with less people there. It made the day peaceful at South Fork Ranch. I have been their at least five times. I remember they had a second gift shop with Jock's car in it. But they decided to close the second gift shop and put Jock's car, what looks like to me a very big box. They could have done a better job with Jock's car instead of putting it in a place where no one can hardly see it. I was kind of angry with the producers of Dallas when found out that Kristen's body was found in the fake South Fork pool in a studio in California. Her body should have been found in real South Fork pool in Texas. Right now I am wearing a shirt that I bought from the South Fork Lobby in 2016. It was just one of those days where only few people showed up to visit South Fork. I was over joyed, but some how sad at the same time. The whole experience was really wonderful.

Yes, was there this past Jan, they had Jock's car in a glassed in "box" way out back, for some reason. Luckily, they have moved the car back into the big white building, my guess is because they had a 40th anniversary party there this weekend, Hopefully the car will stay there. As for not many people being there, our tour in Jan had about 9 people, sadly as this show gets older, I don't see the crowds getting any bigger,

I went there in June 2016. The tour guide insisted that Kristen's body was in the real South Fork pool. I kept telling the person I think her body was founded in the fake South Fork pool on a Hollywood sound stage. So in all the times, I have been to South Fork, the tour guides give out wrong information about the show.

It was in California, as the pool was right under the balcony in the Cal set, and at the real ranch, the pool is farther away from the house. I have been to many tours and EVERY time, I find errors in the tour guides presentations. Guess they're not die hard fans like us.

I am amazed people fall for this con. There is no attempt to make any of the interior look anything like the TV show. How can they claim 'this is Jock's study' or 'JR's bedroom' or 'the dining room', when a) all interior scenes were filmed in California, and b) they never looked anything like what appears to be inside this folly. More fool the idiots who pay to walk around rooms inside a random house that happened to be used for some exterior scenes only.

Hunny, That house has been completely redecorated since the 70's and 80's... you didn't honestly think that all the furnishings would remain the same. The House actually all belonged to a private owner that allowed the Producers of Dallas to film there whenever the occasions called for it.But most of it was recorded outside around the pool area or other parts of the ranch. He was paid rather well for leasing out the option for them to create the TV show around his ranch and home. Most all the actual filming was done on set in Hollywood Calf. So whatever furnishings and other set items that were used never existed in the real house. That's how movies and TV series are made.
