i once babysat a couple kids who had horrible separation anxiety. they were both preschool age but as soon as their parents disappeared, they started crying and nothing i did got them to stop. it was a very long couple hours before their parents returned.

That sounds like such a tough experience, especially when you’re doing everything you can to help and nothing seems to soothe them. Separation anxiety can be really intense for preschoolers, and it’s hard because, at that age, they don’t always have the tools to understand that their parents will return or how to calm themselves. One thing that can sometimes help in these situations is trying to establish a predictable routine when the parents leave, like having a favorite toy, a game, or a comforting object they associate with calm. Sometimes, even distraction techniques like drawing or a short story can help shift their focus, but of course, every child is different. Have you had to babysit them again since that experience? If so, it might be helpful to talk with the parents about what routines they use at home to manage their kids’ anxiety, which could make it easier to replicate that comfort when you're with them. But I totally understand-it sounds like you handled a really tough couple of hours with a lot of patience. I’d be grateful if you were to share what you found most useful from the video. Additionally, if you're interested in more tips on the topic or if you want to explore my video library, you can use my AI: allceus.com/AskDocSnipes.

It sounds like you're going through a really tough time right now, and I’m sorry to hear that things feel more unsafe than they ever have. It can be overwhelming when the world or circumstances around us seem more uncertain than ever before. In moments like this, it’s important to acknowledge those feelings and recognize how valid they are. Sometimes, even small steps can help us regain a sense of control or safety. For example, building routines, identifying supportive people in your life, or practicing grounding exercises can help. Creating even small moments of stability can make a big difference over time. Would you be open to sharing what’s contributing to that feeling right now? It could help us explore some ways to navigate it together. Additionally, if you're interested in more tips on the topic or if you want to explore my video library, you can use my AI: allceus.com/AskDocSnipes. You don’t have to go through this alone.
